Roland is like 44 – way too old. They’ll never going to start a possible franchise with that old goat. Trust me. He’s rumored and he’s agents are doing a big push – even put him on IMDB – but they aren’t going with Roland or Drasko. They want a younger guy. 22 to 30 (tap into the young New Star Trek / Harry Potter money) great actor, the body and the soul of Conan.I know who they are considering and he’s an unknown and will blow everyone away…

I checked out Drasko on Youtube…he’s just posing by some ruins. That does not mean he has the part.
Kickinger has been in movies and films already. He has the inside connections already he’s being considered already.
I really don’t like his mushy squishy face…I do think Drasko has more rugged looks and more mature features.
But as it is with Hollywoodland they’ll take the comedy route and use the guy from the 1-800-collect commercials who wants to call his mommy.

Conan the Barbarian was a great film, and in the fantasy genre (considering the time it was made) it has no peer. The slaughter of his people, his enslavement, the pit warrior training, Subotai (Freaking cool dude man!) THULSA DOOM and the blonde chick bit it, and the BLOOD… don’t get me started on the awesome gore effects. Conan the Destroyer was quite forgettable, except for that D’Abo chick in the transparent gown. IT IS TRUE that the wizard narrated a tease at the end of the film, “he became king by his own hand, but that is another story” SO… there is indeed another tale to tell, but who will tell it? And who will play Conan? Arnold was previously Mr. Olympia and not exactly unknown, but in the world of Hollywood he was… so an unknown would be good. But if no Arnold (and I agree with Mikeyboy, he’s done with movies) then it has to be a re-telling/new version and not a sequel or “King” story.

Now that Arnold is in politics his acting career is over. He retired permanently. He will not be coming back to act. If he does…it’ll be a cameo or something. He cartainly does not look like he used to either. The speed they hack movies out these days…he’d never be in the shape he needs to be in time anyway. I used to say all the time…The UNDERTAKER from the WWE should play CONAN….he’s huge ( practically a giant ) and make up can cover the tats. But nobody liked my suggestion. Whoever they choose to star and direct ….I hope it’s as good as a Harry Potter film or the Lord of the rings trilogy or 300 or even Gladiator or Braveheart….but films like King Arthur and Eragon and Pathfinder were just horrible. This is no joke and should not be treated like one. Gullermo Del Toro should direct.

I agree, I was waiting all this time to eventually get to see Conan the King, especially since Arnold is finally around the age he would need to be to portray for the next story…whats the point in remaking it? Finish it first, then remake the blasted things!

Johnny Depp? Shia ? Drasko Andjic? ( who is that ) the guy in the cell phone commercials?
All very funny suggestions. But CONAN is going to be a CGI character like King Kong with real people walking around him. He’s going to look a lot like Arnold but all he’s going to do is scowl and when you hear his voice it’s going to be a long shot or with his back turned so you can’t see how phony CGI makes peoples faces. Never a speaking close up.
Seriously though…I was kidding. But Yes Pathfinder was a suffocating and dark dreary dismal film. I hate soundstage greenscreen CGI movies. Ahh yes the days when John Houston or Sam Peckinpagh would go to various different locales and film beautiful scenery and all the landscapes were real…even in the snowstorm scenes. I don’t like this choice of Director and I have a sinking feeling…this movie is not being given the treatrment it’s due……so it’s going to be a terrible waste of time and money. In other words…it’ll suck camel hump.
