The Mandalorian season 3 fan art teases a confrontation over the Darksaber. The ending of The Mandalorian season 2 left a lot of things up in the air while giving fans exactly what they wanted. Grogu's departure may have been heart-wrenching for those who loved his relationship with Din Djarin, but the fact that Luke Skywalker was the one to save him made up for it. The Luke Skywalker reveal pushed one important part of the finale to the side, though.

In the struggle to save Grogu from Moff Gideon, Mando ended up in possession of a coveted weapon. The live-action Bo-Katan was introduced early on in the season in one of the series' standout episodes. Katee Sackoff returns in the finale to help Mando rescue Grogu, but she has her own agenda. She's hoping to steal back the Darksaber from Moff Gideon, but Mando inadvertently ends up in possession of it. When Mando tried to give the Darksaber to Bo-Katan, she refuses because, in order for her to wield it, she must fight and disarm the person who has it in their possession.

Now, new fan art shows what might be in store for season 3, with a confrontation between Mando and Bo-Katan seemingly inevitable. Instagram user ultraraw26 created a poster that teases this confrontation. The Darksaber stands in between the two characters who face each other in the poster. Mando towers over Bo-Katan, but she should not be underestimated - her fighting prowess was on full display in season 2. Check out the full poster below:

Luckily for Mando, the Darksaber can't cut through his Beskar armor. Still, Mando will be up against a formidable opponent when season 3 rolls around. The finale nearly saw the confrontation happen - before Luke Skywalker's arrival, Bo-Katan looked ready to pounce on Mando to earn back the Darksaber. Luckily for Mando, the pair became distracted by the arrival of more Dark Troopers on their way to stop Mando and the rest of the gang.

Little is known what's in store for the third season. The finale saw somewhat of a reset, what with the departure of Grogu and what seems like the end of the road for his relationship with Mando. While Grogu is sure to return in some form or another, Mando will have some other things to take care of before he sees his companion again. That includes his all but inevitable confrontation with Bo-Katan. While the two aren't exactly enemies, they aren't the closest of friends either and Bo-Katan has staked her life on getting back the Darksaber. The Mandalorian season 3 may be switching focus, but it doesn't look like it will get any less exciting.
