The film Man on a Ledge finds Clash of the Titans 2 star Sam Worthington playing a…man on a ledge.

Ok, so there’s more to it than that – and to help make that distinction to the potential ticket-buying public, Summit Entertainment has released a four-minute-long preview of Man on a Ledge to give you more of the story behind Worthington’s character Nick Cassidy being up on that ledge.

We could write a long (or vague) synopsis to explain the film – but then, what would be the point of a four-minute preview? Check it out below:

After seeing this extended preview, it’s clear that this single-setting thriller is much more complicated than it initially seems, with Cassidy’s suicide act being the cover for a much deeper mystery that could have some juicy twists and turns – so long as it doesn’t make the mistake of going in some of the more cliched routes implicated in this preview.

Then again, before seeing this, how many people knew that Man on a Ledge would even be this interesting? It could be that director Asger Leth and screenwriter Pablo F. Fenjves have something pleasantly surprising in store. To its credit, the film has managed to attract a pretty solid cast, with people like Kyra Sedgwick, Ed Harris, Jamie Bell, Ed Burns, Elizabeth Banks and Anthony Mackie, being involved. Even Sam Worthington seems to be performing better than he usually does, for what that’s worth.

Man on a Ledge will be in theaters on January 27th.

  1. this movie looks awesome. I hope sam worthington does more action films

  2. This movie is bad ass. The Film Informant didnt give the trailer a good review, but whatever, im still going to see the movie… i love a good heist movie.

  3. The Film Informant doesnt know what hes talking about. He said that Man on a Ledge makes “phone booth” looks oscar worthy… Wtf? http://thefilminformant.com/2011/09/man-on-a-ledge-trailer-1/ I think this movie is going to be awesome. And personally i liked phone booth. Haha.

    • I loved phone booth! LOL. One of the best performances from an actor, ever.

  4. The reviews so far are not good. Rottentomatoes has it with 3 bad reviews, no fresh reviews; the only good reviews come from 2 regulars, so that might be a redeeming factor.

    • When it comes to conflicting reviews at Rotten Tomatoes I find that the non-critics tend to be far closer to reflecting what the rest of us think of the film. There’s something about professional critics that seems to taint them after a while. Its like they get to use to a certain quality perhaps its from excess movie watching and so something has to be totally new or out there to be anything better then ehhh.

  5. Ed Harris is reason enough to see this.

  6. seems like your run of the mill “concept thriller” with an unlikely situation and where things are not what they seem…. most of these don’t go very well: for one “inside man” you got ten of those where they’re simply not able to go past the sheer ridicule of the initial situation.
