  1. Exactly Chris.
    Thank You .
Later at the Book of Eli panel Oldman said “I have been a naughty boy today”.
So , even HE knew he shouldnt have said it.

  2. Yes critic, having an opinion that differs to yours definetly makes me a “dope”

  3. @shamose
it’s not because you have a different opinion it’s because you state that ledger and bale weren’t any good but you give no reasons. It’s an empty opinion IMO.

  4. His reason The Critic is to go against the opinion of the masses. It seems more than likely that he is just someone who likes to agree with the opposite opinion on the majority to prove how different he really is.

  5. Daniel, we all know your opinion is absolute so chime away.
I didn’t say his opinion was wrong. Just because someone believes their opinion that the Easter bunny is real doesn’t mean it’s right.

  6. Ledger was great. Those that can’t see why don’t understand acting.

  7. I’m in complete agreement with Kofi.

  8. You got all that from a few comments daniel? wow you are very perceptive…

however, you are wrong, I care not what the masses think nor do I go out of my way to be different… i just know what I like, and while the joker was ok you cant honestly say that anyone else with a little experience in acting couldnt have pulled off a performance equal or greater to that of ledgers… i personally just dont see what was so great about it…. and I have friends that agree it was mediocre at best

Bale is a quality actor I do admit, American psycho remains one of my favorite performances of all time…. but the fact is batman does not need one actor to define him and I think he could eaily be replaced, but if he is back for number three then that is fine aswell…. as long as he loses the over the top deep voice

  9. The Deep raspy Voice isn’t Bales choice it’s what Nolan wanted half of it isn’t even Bales voice the mess with it some with a computer to make it sound even more gravely.

  10. Oh ok, well I think it should be toned down in the next film

so, pray tell, if you guys dont think another actor can live up to Joker…. which villian would you want?

  11. @Shamose

Actually I think they should use the next best actor they have: Aaron Eckheart.

I think that the story line should follow that of “Batman: Dark Victory”, which sees the last remnants of the mob going to war with the new breed of criminals (“costumes”) who are taking over Gotham City. Two-Face is leading the “costumes” while publicly people think Harvey Dent is dead.

Dark Victory as the basis for the 3rd film also makes logical sense, as Batman Begins was based on “Batman: Year One”; The Dark Knight was based on “Batman: The Long Halloween” (a sequel to Frank Miller’s “Year One” story); and “Dark Victory” is the sequel to “The Long Halloween”.

At this point why divert? (You know what, I may write a post about this.)

As for the Joker, well it really comes down to a question of whether or not a character outweighs the actor behind it. For me, I would like to see an homage type deal: maybe just part of the Joker’s face behind a cell door in Arkham with some audio of Heath.

Oh, and in honor of our own Rob Keyes, I think it should be called “The Caped Crusade”

  12. Funny thing Kofi is actually that Begins was based on Year One and Long Halloween according to Goyer and Nolan and they seem to avoid mentioning long Halloween when they talk about what TDK is based on. Which makes sense while TDK is about Harvey Dent becoming Two Face there is nothing else in the story even similar to Long Halloween.

I agree that Two Face should be the next bad guy if not him than Bain or even maybe both. It doesn’t always have to be a major name and some of the greatest stories are with newly created bad guys or even lesser known ones. My top three choices for the next film would be Two Face, Bain, or Black Mask.

  13. Nolan has already confirmed that Two-Face is DEAD. I think it would be cheap to bring him back after you kill him off in the movie and then declare that he is dead, then bring him back anyway.

  14. It may be slightly cheap, but I think story wise it would be better. I thought TDK was a great movie with a few poor decisions the biggest for me being killing Two Face. It’s easy to bring him back and could easily be explained.

  15. ” I thought TDK was a great movie with a few poor decisions the biggest for me being killing Two Face”

I have to agree w/ you on that. I think they could do soo much more w/ that character.

  16. Do any of you guys think it would be a good idea to bring in Harley Quinn(of course not as the primary villian) now that The Joker is in Arkham?

  17. I wanted Harley in the last film. I would of loved to see Heath being taken in to Arkham and have her walk up and introduce her self while he is strapped to a table. I thought that would of been a great moment.

  18. I still remember when Sarah Michelle Gellar was rumored to play Harley Quinn back when before the film came out.
