Majel will live on also in her role as Ambassador Lwaxana Troi (Deanna Troi’s Betazoid mother) – on Star Trek:TNG and Star Trek:DS9.

Gene’s girlfriend at the time, Majel, was cast as First Officer in ‘The Cage’, but back then, NBC grumbled and she was later cast as a nurse, then in subsequent episodes as a Doctor.

I’m so sad. What a loss. Majel was a force behind Gene Roddenberry. With her gone, it’s like the founders of Star Trek are gone. It’s crushing to me. It really is…goodbye Majel.

In an interview of an original cast member (I don’t recall who) it was hinted that Gene created the roll of Nurse Chapel For his beloved Majel. Thank heavens he did, can you imagine Star Trek without her?

Someday when voice interface becomes as common as the mouse, someone may be able to synthesize her voice for all computers. I don’t think a computer that talks will sound normal without Majel’s voice answering my questions.

RIP Majel Roddenberry. We will miss you.

Strange how a woman I’ve never met who played only bit parts in a show I loved long ago could have such an effect on me with her passing.

It’s good to hear that she was able to participate in the new film.

I only wish they could have included all of the originals some how.

Terrible news, but she lived a long and prosperous life and definitely will never be forgotten.

I’m happy she is a part of the next Star Trek chapter as well, it keeps it authentic as the franchise moves forward in a new direction.

She will be missed. I saw her at a Star Trek convention about 10 years ago and she couldn’t have been more fun or gracious.
