Really? You guys would actually PREFER a remake?? Every time a remake gets announced, the entire internet moans and whines, but as soon as we hear we may be getting a Gibson-less Mad Max, everyone suddenly wants a remake???

I mean, really, a remake isn’t needed. While the first flick’s certainly good, too, Road Warrior is an absolute classic that does NOT deserve the fate of a remake.

If Miller really wants another Mad Max film, and let’s face it, the Character’s his, too, then it needs to be a sequel. A remake would recast Max anyway, so I don’t see why a recast for a sequel is out of the question.

At this point I’m more on board with the remake route joining Max as a rookie on the force than dragging Mel back into a role he really appears to want nothing to do with. This is a huge change of heart for me as I have always been a big time Max Rockatansky fanatic. Road Warrior was for a decade, my comfort movie of choice. I would regularly watch it (and the original Mad Max) every 3-6 months.

I agree, Mel should come back as Max. I have seen Bronson, Hardy is excellent in it, however, Mel is always Max.
Unless they go the remake route.

Where do you go in that world without changing some of the fundamentals? Remember if you’ve read any books like Campbell’s, ‘The Coming Oil Crisis’ or ‘Fuels for Tomorrow’s Vehicles’ and given the post apocalyptic world shown in the series, where do you go with the story? I think it would be much more interesting and a braver effort to explore and tackle how you get to a Mad Max scenario. With this movie so far off it probably makes as much sense to discuss what’s up on the frontline effort to remake The “Illustrated Man.” Zack Snyder where are you?

Gibson still has the goods to play Max again.
I think a sequel without Gibson just won’t work.

If they are going to do it ” Gibson-less ” they should go back to the beginning and just start all over again.

I also want to add that I think Charlize Theron is deliciously hot and that she inspires in me some .very naughty thoughts
