Star-Studded Cast of Robert Rodriguez’s ‘Machete’ Confirmed!

macheteposterheader Star Studded Cast of Robert Rodriguezs Machete Confirmed!

We told a few weeks ago that Robert Rodriguez was eyeing a pretty wild collection of big-name actors for his upcoming feature-length adaptation of Machete, the faux-trailer that played before Grindhouse.

Some of the names we mentioned included Robert De Niro, Steven Seagal, Michelle Rodriguez and even Lindsay Lohan.

Well, I can tell you now that every single one of those names mentioned above have been confirmed for Machete, alongside some equally mind-blowing names you’ll have to read to believe!

Jessica Alba, Cheech Marin, Don Johnson and Jeff Fahey – ever heard of them?

Ok, so maybe not Fahey: he plays “Frank” that mysterious (and cool-as-a-cucumber) pilot who flew back and forth and back again to the island during seasons 4 and 5 of Lost.

The rest of the cast I assume you recognize.

Actor Danny Trejo will reprise his titular role as a decent man who becomes “A Brutal Savage Who Must Slaughter To Stay Alive.” All I know is that the trailers and promo posters better retain the now-famous line from the faux Machete trailer, “They just f*#$ed with the wrong Mexican!” Priceless.

Dude… Machete… Who would’ve guessed?

You can bet that, even as we speak, all the people who previously wrote this movie off as one last dropping from the crap-show that was (for them) Grindhouse are all of sudden sitting up in their chairs and taking wide-eyed notice of this film. Never underestimate El Rodriguez, man. The guy has a lot of friends and a lot of Hollywood pull, obviously…

Machete is aiming for a 2010 release date. It will be co-directed by Robert Rodriguez and his protegé, Ethan Maniquis.

  1. Can’t wait for this one *starts drooling*

  2. Better be better than Planet Terror which was a disgrace.

  3. Oh lord…Alba and Lohan are enough for me to avoid this film.

    Rhaemye,

It can’t be any worse than “Death Proof”.

  4. well if this Works out well.
Mabey we might see “Werewolf Women of the S.S.”.
    i Can Dream. cant i.

  5. I can’t wait to see this and some new faux trailers that I’m sure will be a part of the film.

With all the gore, bloodshed and murder I sure hope it doesn’t get a PG-13 rating… Hopefully Cheech can unload a few F bombs and secure that R …

  6. well with this being a Robert R. film you all know we are going to see Rose McGowan in it.
don’t get me wrong i love the lady ( ogle ogle)
opps sorry had a charmed flashback.
Now maybe he might put off the Red Sonja re-boot, one can only hope IMO

    till next time

  7. I was hoping they’d bring back Jeff Fahey. He played J.T. in the Planet Terror segment, and he was also in the Machete trailer. He was playing the main antagonist, you know, the one whose wife and daughter Machete seduces.

This gives me hope that they’re going to try and create a movie that actually matches up with the fake trailer.

  8. Ok so in the trailer for this movie during Grindhouse it clearly says that this movie is rated X, Im hoping that they will make the entire movie to be as ridiculas, offensive, and action packed as the trailer was and not worry about qualifying for the R rating, and if it ends up being NC17 so be it
