I think with "Unbreakable" it was either all the story he wanted to tell or he didn't know how to sustain that level of storytelling without compromise. Did he actually reel himself in on this one? It's supposedly based on a true story, so .... more true to life drama less fiction/fantasy. A hero doesn't have to be super to be admirable.

Yeah, but the thing about Unbreakable, it was one huge introduction of a superhero and that's it. If they would have made a TV show afterwords, it would have been better. Sixth Sense, yeah, super awesome. The Village, yeah, it was ok. Lady In The Water was horrible. This one better be good.

Based off of your recommendation, I will see the movie Romek. It was the review here and what i perceived to be a general lowering in the level of the quality of his movies that made me skip it, not just the review.

Lady in the Water was a great movie which I really enjoyed. Shyamalans managed to combine several different ideas to bring together a scifi, fantasy, superhero type of movie all in one. Few can even begin to do that and even fewer can make it work.

I think by trusting someone else's option and not seeing the movie for yourself in the first place is a very childish. This is a great way to miss some good movies...

I hope you will see Lady in the Water for yourself and see how Shyamalans style has evolved over the years. And I can't wait to see his next one.

His next one had better be good... the bloom is definitely off the rose with M. Night. Of course there's nothing worse than starting at the top and then having to do even better. Same thing happened with the guys who did "Independence Day."
