Although the Lucifer series is part of the fantasy genre, there’s a lot more talking involved than one might imagine. This generally has to do with Lucifer’s own brand of quotes that seek to unsettle the person before him, although every main character has had their moments.

The series prides itself on delivering a unique kind of comedy, which takes the form of the characters throwing around sarcastic remarks and thinly veiled insults. The funniest quotes also sum up how each character works, making their words even more hilarious. With that in mind, here are 10 funny quotes from the Lucifer characters.

Lucifer: "Why Should The Child Eat First? I'm Far Larger, And Hungrier!"

Lucifer Trixie plays with Lucifer

Those who watch the series know that the devil really is a good guy. What is also common knowledge is that Lucifer is very much like a child. In fact, Chloe’s daughter Trixie comes across as more mature than him at times.

In this instance, Chloe was making sandwiches for Trixie, which was when Lucifer snatched it up for himself. When Chloe was exasperated at this move, Lucifer argued that he was bigger and hungrier, making him the first choice to eat. Funnily enough he kind of ended up making a valid argument.

Maze: "I Got Paid As A Bounty Hunter. Hunting Humans Is A Job! Who Knew?"

There have been times when Linda and Maze have been both good and bad friends to each other. One of the good parts has to do with how Linda helped Maze realize that she needed direction in her life.

To this end, Maze got a job as a bounty hunter, which brought her a lot of self-worth. What delighted Maze the most, though, was that she was getting paid for hunting people, something she’d been happy to do for free for a long time.

(Chloe): So, A Jack-O'-Lantern Stole Your Necklace?" (Amenadiel): Where Can I Find This Mr. O'Lantern?"

Amenadiel wears a cap and sunglasses

Amenadiel generally has his best moments with Lucifer, although his adorkable qualities mean he can be paired with anyone. Back when he was new on Earth, Amenadiel took everything at face value, unable to understand sarcasm.

When he showed a horribly drawn sketch of the guy who stole his necklace to Chloe, Amenadiel assumed her sarcastic remark of the person resembling a Jack-O’-Lantern to be real. Hilariously, he responded with asking of the whereabouts of this mysterious “Mr. O’Lantern.”

Linda: "There's A Good Chance This Thing Might Come Out Of Me With Wings. Wings!"

Most of the best episodes of Lucifer’s Season 4 had to do with Linda freaking out about having Amenadiel’s baby, ergo a Nephilim. Initially, Linda was successful in keeping it together, but lost it when she realized that there was a chance the child might be born with wings.

This was when she couldn’t contain her meltdown any longer, resulting in Linda screaming to a confused Chloe who only just found out about the former’s pregnancy. In all honesty, who wouldn’t freak out over giving birth to an angel baby?

Daniel: "My Life Imploded Because Of You. My Marriage, My Job, My Snacks. I Know You Ate My Pudding. It Was Labelled!"

The Daniel and Lucifer bromance is a favorite among fans, who generally term this pairing as “Douchifer,” owing to Lucifer’s nickname of “Detective Douche” for Daniel. After becoming corrupted by Azrael’s blade, Dan tried to take Lucifer out.

However, the funny thing was that Dan’s greatest contempt for Lucifer came from his anger over the latter eating his pudding. Lucifer’s attempts to calm him down didn’t work either, as an enraged Daniel reminded him that the pudding was labelled, meaning Lucifer ate it willingly.

Chloe: "I’m Lucifer Morningstar, I Can Play The Piano And I’m A Fancy British Man."

Chloe usually has a very no-nonsense attitude, and it’s rare to see her wild side. A drunk Chloe is another matter entirely. Trashing Lucifer’s apartment, she and Linda took to recreating the famous scene from Risky Business.

Chloe then imitated Lucifer’s smarmy English accent, pretending to be him by taking on his mannerisms. The best thing to come out of this sequence was this quote, as it summed up Lucifer’s characterization in hilarious fashion.

(Dan): I Don't Look Like A Cop! (Amenadiel): "Cop."

One of the underrated friendships from the series is that of Daniel and Amenadiel. When this began, however, Amenadiel was a little less than impressed with him. Despite hardly even knowing Dan, it took Amenadiel all of a few seconds before busting his cover and calling him out to be a cop.

It didn’t matter how much Dan protested that he didn’t look like a cop, seeing as even the usually clueless Amenadiel didn’t have any difficulties in reading Daniel. Even funnier was how Amenadiel delivered the “cop” line in such instantaneous and monotone fashion.

Eve: "The Forbidden Fruit was Less Of An Apple And More Like A Banana."

Eve looks at Lucifer with a smile

Lucifer might have decided whom he preferred between Chloe and Eve for his love interest, but fans were given a lot of reasons to love Eve as well. One of her best traits is how totally honest she is, as Eve told the truth about the Apple of Eden.

Evidently, the Forbidden Fruit was never an apple at all, instead being another fruit that resembled a banana. While there could have been some innuendo going on here, it’s still funny to wonder whether Adam and Eve got busted for eating a banana.

Ella: "Lucifer Was The Best Hugger. Squirmer On The Outside But Warm And Funny Inside."

Easily one of the best relationships to be found in Lucifer is the one between the titular character and Ella. Being an extremely positive and nice person, Ella doesn’t care who she’s hugging as long as she feels it’s okay.

Lucifer generally shows reluctance for this act, but Ella had already judged his hugging skills on her own. As stated in this quote, she figured Lucifer always liked hugging her and his squirminess was just hiding the warmth inside. It’s a good thing she didn’t see Lucifer’s bemused expression or Ella’s positive outlook would definitely have withered.

Lucifer: "Don't Get Into Any Trouble? It's A Church! What Am I Going To Do, Pray Too Hard?

Lucifer Chloe

If anyone wants to get Lucifer’s mood down, then all one has to do is give him reminders of his father. Predictably, a church isn’t one of his favorite locations, and Lucifer’s snarky quality doubles when he’s around these places.

Chloe found this out herself when she wanted Lucifer to sit tight, bringing out this gem of a quote where he both shot down Chloe’s logic and took a stab at his father’s ego. To be fair, Lucifer did have a point, seeing as there’s nothing he could do in a church to cause any problems.
