Zanab Jaffrey's relationship with Cole Barnett came to a dramatic end in Love Is Blind season 3, and their journey shares several similarities with Deepti Vempati and Shake Chatterjee from Love Is Blind season 2. When Zanab and Cole met in the Love Is Blind pods, Cole was originally attracted to Colleen Reed, who ultimately married Matt Bolton. As they continued to converse, however, Cole and Zanab were drawn to each other despite their opposite personalities and were one of the later couples to get engaged on Love Is Blind season 3.

Although Zanab and Cole's engagement started strong, their relationship quickly deteriorated over the next four weeks together. By the time their wedding day was in reach, it became clear that Zanab and Cole were destined to split due to incompatibility. While each of the five Love Is Blind season 3 relationships differed from others, Zanab's journey had several moments in common with Deepti's, whose tumultuous relationship with Shake dominated Love Is Blind season 2. Interestingly, Love Is Blind seasons 2 and 3 were filmed back-to-back, which exemplifies their similar characteristics even more.

Love Is Blind's Zanab & Deepti Were Disrespected By Their Partners

Zanab and Deepti - who are of Pakistani and Indian origin, respectively - were disrespected by their Love Is Blind partners. Cole was intensely scrutinized after he flirted with Colleen at a pool party, which almost broke up Colleen and Matt's relationship. Even worse, Cole told Zanab that he found Colleen and Raven Ross – who was engaged to Siriku "SK" Alagbada – more attractive than her. Shake, on the other hand, repeatedly stated in Love Is Blind season 2 that he wasn't physically attracted to Deepti and rubbed viewers the wrong way when he compared her to his aunt. Zanab and Deepti were clearly affected by Cole and Shake's comments on their Love Is Blind seasons.

Love Is Blind's Zanab & Deepti Gave Fiery Wedding Speeches

Deepti smiles as she says no to Shake in Love Is Blind wedding

While Deepti and Zanab didn't get married in Love Is Blind seasons 2 and 3, their respective weddings followed similar patterns. Both women turned down their partners at the altar first and surprised Love Is Blind viewers with passionate speeches. In Love Is Blind season 2, Deepti called out Shake's controversial behavior and stated that she had to "choose herself." While Shake didn't look surprised by Deepti's declaration, Cole was clearly blindsided by Zanab's rejection. When Zanab said, "I don't," in Love Is Blind season 3, she didn't hold back and told Cole, "You have disrespected me, you have insulted me, you have critiqued me, and for what it is worth, you have single-handedly shattered my self-confidence."

Love Is Blind's Zanab & Deepti Cut Off Their Former Fiancés

Cole Barnett and Zanab Jaffrey from Love Is Blind season 3

While some former Love Is Blind relationships have continued post-filming, Zanab and Deepti quickly cut off contact with their former fiancés. At the Love Is Blind season 2 reunion, Deepti and Shake reunited for the first time and dramatically rehashed their relationship. Shake ultimately remained season 2's villain and has since regularly criticized Love Is Blind. Similarly, Zanab and Cole spoke for the first time in months at the Love Is Blind season 3 reunion and have not spoken since, although Zanab regularly combats criticism against her online. Zanab and Deepti are different in several respects, but it's hard not to see the resemblances in their short Love Is Blind engagements.

Love Is Blind season 3 is available to stream on Netflix.
