If everything proves to be true, tonight’s episode of Lost, “Ab Aeterno” will provide fans of the series with answers to questions that have been lingering from the beginning of the series. Considering that’s not an everyday occurrence – especially to Lost fans – we have set up this as place where you can freely discuss spoilers from this episode without having to worry about ruining it for someone who has yet to see it.

Considering we have two Lost spoilers posts, Lost: Final Season Spoiler Roundup and More ‘Lost’ Season 6 Spoilers; Upcoming Scenes Revealed, that provide information about what’s to occur further on in the season, please limit this discussion to events that occur in “Ab Aeterno.”

If you’re posting comments here, assume that anyone in the conversation has seen the episode – if you haven’t seen the episode, I would recommend you don’t read these comments here until you have. You’ve been warned.

Discuss away!

  1. All this metaphorical “Hell” talk is probably pissing a lot of fans off. I wouldn't take it too literally. But at the same time, as much as I may be alone on this, I've always enjoyed the possibility they are just flat out in Hell or Purgatory. I love the concept, but I think even the writers know the fans would be upset (at what, I don't know though)

  2. I don't think it was so much metaphorical as much as the MIB saying it to get Richard (or Ricardo) to do what he wants.

  3. With Richard always being the so calm, cool, collected, it’s weird to see him lose his sh-t like he did in the beginning of the episode.

  4. epic!

  5. Ya I think the “hell” references are just used to describe the evil of the man in black, not “hell” literally.

The show was awesome. Lots of answers.

  6. I'm glad that explained the whole cork thing because for the past month I've been hearing “cork,” “cork” and could never figure out how an island could be a cork.

  7. I'm glad that explained the whole cork thing because for the past month I've been hearing “cork,” “cork” and could never figure out how an island could be a cork.

  8. I'm glad that explained the whole cork thing because for the past month I've been hearing “cork,” “cork” and could never figure out how an island could be a cork.

  9. Ya that is a cool metaphor and definately a good ending. Im glad how he explained how there past doesnt matter and how a person must make their own choices from right from wrong without his help. The theme of good vs evil is really taking over.

  10. Considering Jacob is dead, who is going to be the one to take over for him? Looks like Hurley is the current front-runner, right?

  11. I was pretty unhappy with the reveals. I think that it's really simplistic and sorta stupid to have the Man in Black be the Evil Devil and the Man in White be Good. Could you get more obvious and silly? What are we, Star Wars? And the whole genie-in-a-bottle is stupid too, very childish. Really stupid actually. If that's their solution, I will be very disappointed. It will run against the subtlety and complexity of the entire show.

  12. I think it is gonna be Jack. He has always been the leader and it would just seem right to me for him to become the new Jacob since it would be him finding his faith and meaning in life. Also, Jacob said six candidates. There is Jack, Hurley, Sawyer, Sayid (who I think is out of the running), then either jin or sun, but who was the other? Im drawing a blank.

  13. Kown (don't know which one) and Kate Austen.

  14. I agree that they are simplistic, but I always expected the premise would be with the complexity left to the characters.

  15. Does that mean only Jacob's replacement will survive and the rest will die?

  16. I doubt they will die, maybe Sayid, the dude is gone.

  17. With what happened to everyone else who failed, Maybe those who don't choose the right from wrong on their own will end up dead.

  18. Kate is not a candidate. She was not on the list in the cave or on the compass in the lighthouse. Locke was on both lists.

  19. You are right, LostComment. So, what's Kate hanging around for?

  20. Probably just to continue the storyline with Aaron and Claire. Does anyone know if Walt will be in this season.

  21. Check out http://screenrant.com/lost-spoilers-aco-47772/

  22. Thanks. He was always a big question mark to me.

  23. With the Black Rock setting sail on March 22, 1845 and guessing that Ricardo was around 30 at that time -give or take- it would make Richard around 195 years old.

  24. Ben, who through Ilana's forgiveness, I believe, may be back on track for being a candidate.

  25. Kate isn't a candidate.

  26. I missed the ending where Isabella was telling Richard it was not his fault she died. Can anyone tell me what happened after that??

  27. I think the question now is how did the island get underwater. Well, how do you sink a cork? For me, that's the new big question. Clearly, Man in Black has taken control, smothering the cork in the darkness of the wine. Will enough wine cause the cork to sink?

  28. She told him that he has to defeat the MIB or that they'll all go to hell.

  29. No. Cork is naturally water/liquid resistant. It's why it has been used to stopper bottles for 400 years. If you want to sink a cork you need to add a lot of weight to it…. even blowing a big hole in it with a big bomb would still just make a bunch of small cork pieces floating around. I think the MIB was demonstrating how he could get around the cork by breaking the glass.
