I don't care about the Olympics either, that's one thing we have in common. I have been invested in Lost from the beginning, and frankly, screw it, I could care less with what I have been seeing lately. Non-network shows like Breaking Bad, Dexter, True Blood or even Big Love, have risen the bar to a point that even a solid network show like Lost (my only other network show being House) just has me not caring anymore. Maybe the shows that have outdone lost in quality have nothing to do with it. Maybe I feel the show is now going in some ridiculous circle and I have finally joined the ranks of those who just don't care anymore. I WILL finish this show, but that old feeling of anticipation for the next episode is just “lost” on me. That's what I have noticed with this season. None of the episodes leave me feeling the way they used to, where I couldn't take waiting another week to know what was going to happen. Now when the episodes end, I know that I seeing next weeks episode will fullfill something in my drab life. I just don't care. What I am trying to say is, I don't care about the Olympics, but finally, after all this time and invested energy, I just don't care about Lost anymore…

Jack would try to fix it.

Kate would run to somewhere they were broadcasting it.

Locke would say it was the will of the island.

Saywer would con someone at ABC to air it anyhow.

Hurley would go with the flow – not wanting to fight about it.

Sayid would hold someone at knife point until they aired it.

Ben would consult Jacob about it.

And Jacob would speak and it would be aired.

“ABC has announced the sixth and final season will premiere on Tuesday, February 2nd 2010 with a two-hour premiere at 9pm.

Its then expected to air all eighteen of its episodes in the Tuesday 9pm slot uninterrupted through to either a three-hour finale on May 18th or most likely a two-hour one on May 25th.”

Ok so does the “expected” take into account the Olympics?

I don’t think the WO’s really matter. Personally I like to watch everything at one go. I just started watching Lost 2 weeks back, and it has been a marathon since then. Average of 8-9 episodes a day. I downloaded Season 1 through torrents, then rented out 2 & 3, streamed 4 & 5. So, all in all, Lost is addictive. The ending of Season 5, left me hanging honestly. So, I think in 4 months time, I’ll get to finish the entire thing. And as Rhaemye said above, watching all the seasons back to back, is a real good idea. Anyways, all the Lost fans know why this show is what it is. Good luck everybody!

Ummm Sorry. This show is… We’ll lets just say I’ve lost interest. I just dont care anymore. They’ve destroyed a good show. Season 1 was damn near perfect. Now its just Blah. So I dont really care if it comes back at all. Lost Season 1 and thats it.

Um, I’m fairly certain one network isn’t going to “help” another network just because they pay them. They are looking out for one network, their own. If Lost is so incredible that it supercedes everything and every network has to plan around Lost, then they will probably intentionally have it run alongside what the other networks are betting on. It’s called competition. They are splitting it because they feel that their ratings will take a hit, however small or large, due to the Olympics. Sounds pretty logical to me.

Sucks for the fans, but like you just said, you would have tuned in despite the Olympics, so you’ll still tune in despite the delay, simple as that. They are not risking losing ratings due to the Olympics, and they don’t lose ratings due to the delay either. Win-win for them.

I think it’s ridiculous! I mean, Lost restored my faith in the possibility that television has anything interesting or just plain good anymore. What a bunch of garbage. I too, cannot care about the Olympics in comparison to Season 6. I stopped being into the Olympics in like, 6th grade.

Eh, I stopped watching Lost the second all of the supernatural stuff started happening. Basically after the first episode, lol. I would have rather seen a human drama about how people would act and what people will do when confronted with the need to survive. You know, the every man for themselves, or stick together, or maybe power struggles, etc. etc. Would have been an interesting drama, instead it’s just another “OMG look at all of the crazy coincidences and crazy stuff going on” show… oh well…

Anyway, pretty funny that they are splitting it up, but it makes sense to me from a business standpoint. Not EVERY viewer is a dedicated Lost fan, a good percentage of their viewers might be casual enough to want to watch the Olympics instead of Lost…

Not that I care about Lost, but does anyone actually care about or watch the Winter Olympics? I know it’s all just as prestigious as the Olympics, but to me, I’ve always thought of it as the Olympics younger cousin… and I don’t think that much about the Olympics in the first place.
