  1. On Itunes its marked as 2013, its 2014 now SR ;)

  2. 1 ride along
    2 lone survivor
    3 jack Ryan
    4 frozen
    5 devils due
    10 paranormal activity

  3. The review link is Hunger Games, Catching Fire for some reason…

    • You so don’t get the reference do you?

      • I haven’t listened all the way thu yet, if there is a reference to be had I haven’t heard it… Sorry

        • You didn’t miss anything, I quickly decided to try and make a joke. However, after thinking about it I wish I could take the comment back. Lone Survivor is a very serious story and nothing to joke about. I wish I’d never made that comment…

          • I haven’t listened to the podcast yet either, but it’s my favorite and I enjoy it every week. Thanks SR Team!

    • Sorry, guys. I’ve updated the link. I use a template each week and forgot to swap that part out.

  4. Here are all the roles Idris Elba needs to play sometime in his career: Batman, Commissioner Gordon, Spawn, John Stewart, Steel, Black Panther, Luke Cage, every black comic book character, Apocalypse, Martian Manhunter, Thanos, Sherlock, Doctor Who, Indiana Jones, Skeletor, Optimus Prime, Darth Vader, Captain Kirk, Gandalf and a T-Rex in Jurassic World. And motion capture Yoda.

    • Also, Harry Potter in the reboot.

      • Ah Yes! Lol!

        • Passion of the Christ 2: Judgement Day

          • Next Christmas forgiveness comes down the barrel of a gun!

            • Happy Birthday!

  5. Sherlock > Elementary. Every time!!!

  6. Luke Han and leia being the main characters would drain a lot of interest out of 7 for me.

  7. You’re right about Despicable Me 2, Rob. I also usually quite enjoy the main animated films. Despicable Me was quite funny, but part 2 felt boring and “meh” to me. It just lost my interest somehow.

  8. Great review for Lone Survivor, wish it could have been longer. Interesting sidenote, Mark Wahlberg actually gave up 1/2 his pay to ensure that Ben Foster was in this movie.

    • Nice. I knew Wahlberg brought Foster on but not about the pay.

  9. 1. Ride Along
    2. Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit
    3. Frozen
    4. Lone Survivor
    5. Devil’s Due
    10. Her

  10. P.S. On the web page of episode 124, my full name is mentioned in the show notes (box-officer winner). I put in my full name by mistake (auto-fill in Safari). I want to know if it’s possible to change that. Just Adel is enough. Thank you.

    • I’ve got you!

      Edit: Fixed!

  11. Still don’t think its working right. It cuts into something else a couple of mins into it.

    • never mind… I figured it out.

  12. Marvel needs a return to Blade/Punisher badassery.

Ant’s abuse analogy for what Agents of SHIELD does was spot on! :D

As much faith as I have in Abrams as a director, those changes in the production of the new Star Wars Episode sound like a clusterfrack waiting to happen. I don’t wanna see Indiana Jones IV all over again either, especially not with Ford being 6 years older than he already was back then. If anybody listens to Hollywood Babble-On and knows Ralph Garman’s excellent Ford impression: THAT’s what we are in for should they make him a lead. *shudders*

For the third time: Elementary is great! I love Sherlock too (especially the incredibly creative camera work), but if I had to choose I would eliminate Sherlock as well. Sherlock is sometimes a bit too self-indulgent and self-referential, as Hanna mentioned, while Elementary takes itself seriously and still is very funny in appropriate places, which I like better.

I think you shouldn’t rush through things. I get that you do the podcast on your own time and that you wanna get outta there at some point, but since there is no network/radio timeslot to adhere to there is no such thing as running long. It’s a website podcast and you can let it run as long as you want it to. So, if you are willing to keep going, keep going, even if it hits three hours. Over the course of a week people should have enough time to listen to it piece by piece, should it be too long for them to listen to in one sitting. No problem there. ;)

    • Ben just loves to control and time is his weapon!

And glad you agree about Elementary. That means I can trust you ;)

    • agreed, no need to end the podcast, almost every episode I want more!

      • Haha – really?!

        • Is it that surprising? I like hearing you guys speculate about news, or reviews, and sometimes that goes long, nothing wrong with that! You guys do a great job to make us feel like we’re friends, I look forward to hearing what you guys have to say each week.

I understand if you don’t want to turn people away by making it too long, but I’m sure there are a large number of loyal listeners that would love to hear what you guys have to say

          • Yah, that’s the issue. Keeping it shorter also forces us to keep our thoughts tighter – and not just go in circles.

But the main concern is that it’s already a long-form podcast. File size and length are a consideration for some listeners, so we try to find a workable middle ground.

  13. Have been listening to this podcast regularly, great work and insights. Would appreciated it more if the show doesn’t constantly have “keyboard typing” background noises which is very, very annoying. Thanks.

    • The police sirens get me every time. I’m usually listening while driving and think I’m getting pulled over ;)

    • Keyboard typing is probably me.

      • That’s it, you’re off the podcast.

  14. In regards to the Jim Gordon show, have they stated that Bruce Wayne’s parents are dead? I was thinking that perhaps the Wayne family hadn’t been murdered yet, and then they could use those characters with little Brucie tagging along. Then, a shocking murder and Jim Gordon is trying to solve the case and needs to protect his eye witness.
And will Alfred be in this show?

In regards to Star Wars…WHAT!?!? Seriously, have they looked at Carrie Fischer or Mark Hamill’s resume lately? Those two can’t be the leads in a major production like this.
The only scene I want with the original actors is Lando and Han at a bar and Han is showing a digital photo of Princess Leia in the slave outfit. He keeps saying that “he used to hit that.” 3 of the 4 main characters covered in that single scene.

OR make it a caper film with Han, Chewie, and Lando trying to steal the Falcon back from Princess Leia who won it in divorce court.

I had some hope for Star Wars and you guys crapped all over them by telling me this news. ;)

    • ALFRED – you, sir, just unlocked the mystery of Gotham.

  15. GOTHAM CITY is gonna be another SMALLVILLE

  16. Americans. Where do you get your info? Really?

    • You know you didn’t say anything. You want us to ask what you’re talking about. I’m lazy. Nope. Tell me or don’t.

    • I can’t speak for all Americans, but I use a magic-eight-ball.

      • I use a Ouija board, because ghosts have scary powers and I want in on it.

  17. Kofi – thank you for mentioning Dark Blue. I was obsessed with that show and was really disappointed when it was gone.

  18. #1 Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit
    #2 Ride Along
    #3 Devil’s Due
    #4 Lone Survivor
    #5 American Hustle
    #10 The Legend of Hercules

  19. Last year i had the honor of observing a team of SEALS, in Afghanistan while filming a doc, and they chatter like that amongst themselves, and in a split second they become all business.
