After less than three weeks in theaters, Logan has already broken the $500 million mark at the global box office. What's more, audiences and critics alike are hailing the film as both a fitting sendoff for Hugh Jackman and his character, and one of the best superhero films ever made. Part of the appeal is that Logan is very different from the average tentpole comic book film. While it certainly borrows plenty from the page, it's also not beholden to superheroics and world-ending threats. Instead, its focus on a small cast of characters has allowed the movie to explore the personal tragedies of the protagonists, both young and old.

Even though the movie still has plenty of its run to complete, attention has still shifted to its home video release. We've already heard that will include a black and white version of Logan, and may also feature a deleted scene involving Jean Grey. On top of that, we've been getting a lot of behind-the-scenes looks at the movie. We've seen Logan bear his claws in a new photo, and got a look at some of the concept art for the landscapes of the movie. A more recent batch of Logan concept art even gave as some alternate designs for Logan, X-23, and Professor X. Now, we've got even more looks at their possible appearances.

CBR have posted a whole bunch of alternate designs from artist Steffen Reichstadt that show a much older Logan, a far more alien and mutated looking Caliban, as well as a bunch of designs for a teenage version of Laura more closely resembling her look in the comics. While the somewhat gruffer designs for Wolverine hew closer to the Old Man Logan story from the comics, they're not as radically different from the ones of Caliban and X-23. For Caliban's part, he looks quite different from his two incarnations on screen with jagged teeth and glowing eyes in a few images. Laura, meanwhile, has the look from some of her early comic book appearances when she was a prostitute, homeless teenager, and member of X-Force. Instead, the film went with the original incarnation of the character, a preteen fresh out of the facility that experimented on her. We heard from her co-creator Craig Kyle recently that he was glad director James Mangold made that decision, given his distaste for the older and more sexualized version of Laura that would eventually manifest in the comics.

There's also a nice key frame showing Laura and Logan running from a semi full of people and some drones. One is the spy drone seen later in the film, but another is far more tactical and firing at the heroes. Given the future setting of the movie, it makes sense that our current drone technology would have advanced to that point, serving as a sort of miniature Sentinel to chase rogue mutants. We're sure to get a lot more looks behind the curtain as the weeks go by. We know at one point the film had a very different ending planned, so expect some alternate reality takes on the movie to pop up in the coming months.
