That's a good question deacon.

Well will we see the likes of Steven Mackintosh, Vinnie Jones, and Benicio Del Toro in "Lobo?"

Who would play Dredd? Clive Owen? :P

I dont get it, just when they anounced WB has setup a new organization named as DC Entertainment but they intend to make films without the DC comics guys involvement?
So why all the trouble of setting up this good for nothing Entertainment?

"Darren seeley says:
It makes no difference if a film is R or PG-13. "

I don't know that I can agree there. We've always known that they do that to "widen the general landing footprint of the film" and I call BS on that. Great movies are made as great movies, true, but there is some subject matter that, when dummied down to get a rating, takes out a giant piece of the craft and persona of a character. Wolverine is probably the most recent and boldest of them all. For those of you that have played the game of the same name for say, the PS3, WOW. The difference is STARK and there is a completely different flavor when seeing Wolverine do damage the way that Wolverine WOULD do damage. Dredd was raw back then and - I'm eager to see what someone away from the project previously will do with it - with an R. Dredd and PG-13 will fall into the same "ass" category we've had with some scrub films that should have been out-of-the-ballparkers.

It makes no difference if a film is R or PG-13. It just has to be a good film when all is said and done. Just because Ritchie/Silver are hoping for a PG-13 rating when the film is made, it does not guarantee it will get one. It should also be a reminder that Alan Grant retconned Lobo's origins (although his run helped the character's popularity) and that Lobo became a book with coffin humor, satire and property damage, save for the diner.
His profanity wasn't "actual" profanity but sci-fi profanity, like BSG's famous 'frak'.

Judge Dredd? I don't see that happening anytime soon. But I would not mind it.

As to the "shut out" of the comics writers and such, it is a slight disappointment that they aren't in the loop even on a limited level. But Grant and the rest of them should BACK OFF and let the filmmakers do their thing, while in the comics, they can do theirs.
