The teaser trailer for Leverage: Redemption brings the gang back together and reveals the premiere date for the IMDb TV revival. The original Leverage ran for 5 seasons on TNT, amassing a steady fan following over the years. The series centered on former insurance investigator Nate Ford (Timothy Hutton) and his team of specialists as they steal from wealthy criminals and corrupt businessmen. It also starred Gina Bellman, Christian Kane, Beth Riesgraf, and Aldis Hodge; the entire original Leverage cast, save Hutton, will be back for the updated series.

Leverage: Redemption was officially put into development in April 2020, with production kicking off later in the year. This time, Falling Skies and ER vet Noah Wyle will step in to help lead the team. As "conflicted" corporate lawyer Harry Wilson, Wyle will realize he's been working for the wrong side all these years and opts to join the Leverage crew to even the scales a bit. The second major newcomer to join the cast for Leverage: Redemption is Aleyse Shannon as Breanna Casey, sister to Hodge's Hardison.

News of Leverage: Redemption wrapping arrived in early April, and now IMDb TV has revealed the first teaser. The minute-and-a-half-long clip reintroduces fans to the various members of the team and points out why this is the perfect time for a Leverage revival: Things have only gotten worse for the little guy in the years since it went off the air, and there are plenty of crooked figures to con. Plus, the teaser reveals Leverage: Redemption will premiere on July 9. Check it out below.

Fans of Leverage will be thrilled to see the familiar labels of "Hitter" (Kane's Eliot Spencer), "Hacker" (Hardison), "Thief" (Riesgraf's Parker), and "Grifter" (Bellman's Sophie) prominently displayed in the teaser. It's extra fitting that the new additions receive titles of their own: Wilson is the "Fixer," while Casey is the "Maker." From this teaser alone, it looks like Wilson and Casey will be excellent additions to the crew, while there's undeniable pleasure in seeing the originals working together once again.

No in-story reason has been given for Hutton's absence, and it remains to be seen if it will be addressed. Regardless, though, Leverage: Redemption promises to hold a lot of excitement for fans. Right now, the series is slated for a 10-episode run, though executive producer Dean Devlin's comments from April hinted this is only season 1. Between new cons and fun guest stars like James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Leverage: Redemption has a lot packed in right from the start. It all begins in just about two months.
