FOX has released some pictures of Leonard Nimoy’s return as William Bell in this week’s episode of Fringe.
We previously debunked the rumor that, according to an “in-depth” episodic description analysis, Nimoy would make an appearance as Bell in last week’s episode. While you could hear and somewhat see Nimoy is a couple frames of that episode, I wouldn’t really consider that “making an appearance” and I’m sure the amount of his subsequent paycheck would confirm and reflect that as well.
That being said, FOX removes all speculation regarding Nimoy’s role in this week’s episode by clearly announcing Bell’s triumphant return.

WILLIAM BELL RETURNS AND OLIVIA’S MURKY PAST MATERIALIZES ON “FRINGE” THURSDAY, OCTOBER 8, ON FOX

See… told ya. Although, it does appear that Bell’s appearance will be more flashback oriented, focused on filling-in Olivia’s memory regarding what occurred during her and Bell’s meeting last season than touching upon the current events the Fringe team are facing.

Recuperating from the traumatic and alarming meeting with Massive Dynamic founder William Bell (guest star Nimoy), Agent Dunham consumes a powerful “fringe” concoction that Dr. Bishop prescribes to stimulate her memory. Meanwhile, the Fringe Division investigates a series of robbery cases that are tied to shape-shifting. As clues are tracked and memories are jogged, another woman experimented on by Dr. Bishop is introduced and a flashback reveals more about Olivia’s visit to the alternate reality.
While I’m looking forward to seeing what happened during Olivia and Bell’s meeting (which was so important as to justify killing off Charlie (Kirk Acevedo, and I’m still not happy about that), I’m anxiously awaiting the moment when Walter Bishop (John Noble) and William Bell come face to face.

So what was the worms all about, a placebo effect? Were the worms suppose to pick up the memories [selectively] then the scientists were going to sift through the gals waste products for the chemical precursors?? Even if that were possible, which sounds preposterous, what would you do with the chemicals? Eventually inject them back into her brain? Of course that whole thing gets flushed when it’s stumbled upon that a bell triggers the lost memories. Even parallel universe Nimoy can make this stuff better. Felt like a Snipe hunt that turned up a McGuffin.
