The LEGO Ninjago Movie comes on the back of a massively successful line of Ninjago LEGO playsets, as well as a popular TV show and, of course, the LEGO Movie franchise. The movie focuses on the central character of both the toy line and the TV show, Lloyd Garmadon, and his relationship with his evil father. Here's a breakdown of who's voicing which character, and where you'll know them from.

Jackie Chan as Master Wu/ Mr. Liu

LEGO Ninjago Movie - Master Wu (Jackie Chan)

This one needs no introduction. Chan voices the leader of the ninjas, who is also Lord Garmadon's brother and therefore Lloyd's uncle. Chan has an extensive history in the world of martial arts movies,, and the addition of his name to the voice cast list certainly gives The LEGO Ninjago Movie a real boost.

Dave Franco as Lloyd Garmadon

Lloyd (pronunciation up to you) is the central character of the movie. He is the Green Ninja, Leader of the Secret Ninja Force, and highly embarrassed to have an evil warlord as his dad. Franco is brother of James and Tom, and has mostly appeared in R-rated comedies. Neighbors: Sorority Rising, 22 Jump Street and The Disaster Artist are just a few examples. He also voiced Wally in The LEGO Movie.

Justin Theroux as Lord Garmadon

Lord Garmadon is an evil warlord who loves to cause widespread disruption and destruction. He's just not very good at being evil because he's quite emotional. Further, he's Lloyd's dad and, much to the latter's chagrin, insists that his son's name is pronounced L-loyd. Theroux is a well-known name, perhaps best for The Leftovers. He's appeared in Girl on the Train, Zoolander, and next year we'll see him in The Spy Who Dumped Me.

Michael Pena as Kai

Kai is the Red Ninja of Fire, and his color is representative of his personality; he's the hothead of the group. Pena has a long list of movie credits to his name, including Ant-Man and the forthcoming sequel, Ant-Man and The Wasp. He's also voiced Gruber in the upcoming My Little Pony movie, and we'll see him in Disney's A Wrinkle in Time, in 2018.

Kumail Nanjiani as Jay

Described as quiet and cautious, Jay is the Blue Ninja of Lightning. You'll recognize Ninjiani from TV, most likely, where he's appeared in Community, Portlandia, and Silicon Valley, to name but a few. On the big screen, he's most recently appeared in his autobiographical movie The Big Sick.

Abbie Jacobson as Nya

Nya is the strong, Silver Ninja of Water. She is also Kai's sister, and Jay's crush. Like Franco, Jacobson has appeared in Neighbors: Sorority Rising, though you'll most likely recognize her voice from Bojack Horseman, where she plays Emily.

Fred Armisen as Cole

Music-loving Cole is the Black Ninja of Earth. His character mirrors real life; Armisen is a talented composer and has written music for Late Night with Seth Myers, as well as Portlandia. He's also been in front of camera too, with a vast list of TV accolades to his name, including acting in Portlandia alongside Nanjiani

Zach Woods as Zane

Zane is the White Ninja of Ice. Woods has appeared in Silicon Valley, Veep, Playing House, and The Good Wife, among others.

Olivia Munn as Koko

Mother to Lloyd, and ex-wife of Lord Garmadon. Munn is a well-known and well-respected actress, appearing in numerous movies and TV shows. She is perhaps most noted for playing Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse, and she's rumored to be reprising that role for Dark Phoenix. We'll also see her in Ocean's Eight when it's released in 2018.
