  1. I had issues with the villain being named “President business”, given that it is in fact a BUSINESS that made this movie possible, and it is a BUSINESS that will be profiting from it. And that’s not a bad thing!

But everything ELSE was indeed awesome.

  2. I want a Keyes-Dyce debate to see who the best Canadian is…..”Let the games begin” – Bane

  3. I miss Anthony and his insight and wisdom.

  4. #1 The Lego Movie
    #2 About Last Night
    #3 Robocop
    #4 Endless Love
    #5 Winter’s Tale
    #10 Lone Survivor

  5. When most of the movies we see nowadays are sequels or reboots,it was extremly gratifying to see something original.

  6. Box Office Battle

    1 The LEGO Movie
    2 About Last Night
    3 Robocop
    4 Endless Love
    5 Monuments Men
    10 Awkward Moment

  7. I’m surprised people even remember The OC. That ended 7 years ago.

    • I guess it helps over here in UK land that one of our channels repeats it quite often due to it being in a similar vein as other shows the channel airs, like Nashville, 90210, New Girl, Don’t Trust The B~, 2 Broke Girls, Big Bang Theory and others that mainly appeal to teens.

  8. those “creatures” are actually BIGGER legos, Duplo.

  9. Michael Bays action is overrated, if anything its bloated and messy.
This is my explanation of the jump from flashpoint to war.
    Flashpoint rebooted things
but the end of Flashpoint is the current time of when barry went back in time and screwed up things, meaning everyone already has met.
War takes place immediately after the reboot, so timeline is-
Flashpoint reboot> Flashpoint stinger > War > (years later)Flashpoint Ending scene
I think youre wrong Dyce, I think the reveal was where it was needed and was well hinted at but they needed to focus on other things, plus they made plenty of lego centric jokes no need for meta so early, maybe the ghost thing was only funny because you just learned the truth.
I love when wildstyle skips over bionicle.

  10. Dyce comes in with 2 references close to my heart, the OC/Gotham line was great, I’m from near there and back in the day my friends and I enjoyed bashing the hell out of that show (it was our “The Room”) and the quick line about the Viper TV show (car one) took me back too, I loved that show during my childhood.

I thought the Lego movie was great, I’m a huge Lego fan and I wasn’t let down. I’m definitely going to see it a few more times, as I missed a few things. I loved the Millennium falcon showing up, with Billy Dee Williams voicing Lando. The pronunciations of the real world items was amazing! polish of Nyeel!

  11. I love Twister (yeah, sue me!) and that movie is where I noticed Philip Seymour Hoffman for the first time. The suck zone! :D RIP :(

So far that Gordon show has absolutely no hook to reel me in. Everything that I care about in the Batman universe only comes into play later, and 80% of that is Batman himself. I don’t care for a whiney spoiled brat Bruce Wayne and Gordon is not that interesting either. Depending on what they do with the show there is still a chance that I will tune in, though. After all, I never thought I would be interested in a show about meth cooking in Albuquerque either. ;)

And the award for the worst Def Leppard rendition goes to Kofi Outlaw! :D

I really love Sahara. Fun characters, great locations, cool action and good music. I never understood why people harped on it so much. The story certainly didn’t make any less sense than that of your average James Bond movie.

Oh my God! That LEGO song is terrible! Cheap beat auto-tune hell! I guess you had to be there to like it. ;)

  12. why you don’t talk about Vision?

    • As I mentioned on the podcast, Rob was away – and we will talk about it when we know more. All we know right now is that Bettany will be in it.

That and we talk about Marvel and DC A LOT. We don’t want the podcast to simply be a weekly comic book movie speculation podcast.

      • But Ben that the main reason I listen to y’all is to here y’all geek out on comic book movies.

        • And we do that A LOT. I just want to make sure we’re also covering other topics. The site isn’t JUST comic book movie news – content is determined by what we think is interesting (and that includes more than just DC and Marvel updates) ;)

  13. Lego movie
    Robo cop
    Winters tale
    Monuments men
    About last night
    The nut job

  14. I will be singing “everything is AWESOME!” for weeks….hahaha

  15. SPACESHIP!!!!!!

  16. I love this podcast, and I usually get a kick out of what Kofi Outlaw ‘Rated-R, or Rated-PG-13.’ says but this week he seemed really negative. Yes, Michael Bay has childish humor, but he knows what is ‘Awesome,’ when it comes to explosions, NEVER has his strength been character development or story plot. My gripe was Kofi’s opinion about ‘comic book fans not knowing crap.’ Really?!, you speak for fans like me who go every Wednesday to his local comic store and picks up his DC and Marvel comics from his box. I saw the new DC animated film Justice League: War and thought it wasn’t very good, the animation and switching of Aquaman for Shazam was a bad choice. Geoff Johns and artist Gary Frank introduced Shazam only as 5 page backup stories at the end of each Justice League comic, and finished it up in issue #21. Aquaman was one of the best selling titles when the New 52 started thanks to Mr. Johns. I don’t like negative fans who make inappropriate comments about Gal Gadot either, I think she will play a ‘Wonderful’ Woman Woman. Not all Comic Book Fans are idiots, please don’t label us all.

    • I agree with you somewhat. I can see where he was coming from though. I think there are a lot of people that have watched the Comic book movies and think they know everything about the comics.

  17. So which women expendables movie is based in the expendables universe?

  18. Passing up The ExpendaBelles. If I want to see ‘REAL’ porn,I’ll just go online,Ty.

  19. Box Office Battle:
    1. The Lego Movie
    2. Robocop
    3. Winter’s Tale
    4. About Last Night
    5. The Monuments Men
    10. That Awkward Movement

  20. Great podcast as usual.

Also, as usual, Kofi’s inability to pronounce Joss Whedon’s name correctly.

It’s JOSS, not JOSH. If you think this is a small point not worth complaining about, I remind you that you are a journalist and the three rules of journalism are “accuracy, accuracy, and accuracy.” Please, get it right!

    • I know how to pronounce his name, man. I just have an accent about it. Let it go. You haven’t caught me being ignorant. I know my stuff.

Just to make YOU feel better, I’m only going to use his first name from now on. Or last name. And I’m going to stop the podcast and say it’s all for you buddy. All for you. Just because I want you to feel all snug and comforted and happy.

      • Wow. Clearly I struck a nerve here and you are insulted by my post. I cannot say that I blame you, considering its tone. I did not mean to come across curt, but I did post this from an iPhone (as you can tell from the horrible typo on my own name – glass houses, eh?).

Let me apologize as I never meant to insult you or imply that you don’t know your stuff. If I thought you or any of the Screen Rant staff were incompetent or unreliable, I would not listen to your podcast or frequent your site. Kofi, you and your colleagues are very good at what you do, which is why I pointed out your pronunciation error – it’s uncharacteristic of the attention to detail that is clearly a focus of SR. I take you and your podcast seriously. It is informative, entertaining, and insightful.

That said, if you choose to correct your pronunciation of Mr. Whedon’s first name, don’t do it to make me feel better, do it because he, like anyone, deserves to have his name said correctly by a member of the media.

Thanks for responding to my post, even if you did take a shot at me – I suppose I deserved it for coming across as a nitpicky jerk. No hard feelings?

        • No hard feelings. You will hear improvement, I promise :-)

          • Fair enough! Don’t you go changin’ too much, though!
