LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 Revealed

LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is revealed by way of an official trailer for the new video game developed by Traveller's Tales.

Fans of the LEGO-themed action-adventure video games developed by Traveller's Tales are in for a real treat, as LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 has just been revealed by way of an official teaser. After seeing the original title release to generally positive reviews and enthusiastic sales numbers, the folks over at Traveler's Tales and publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment were presumably destined to produce a follow-up to their successful Marvel Entertainment production.

Following the release of the preceding installment from 2013, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 is looking to up the ante in terms of how many original Marvel characters it will see fit to introduce and utilize in its original and sprawling central narrative. Furthermore, players can be sure that they will be granted ample opportunity once more to take part in a vast array of side missions and activities in a veritable superhero sandbox - and potential players can get their first look at all of the action soon-to-come in the game's first teaser.

In the footage featured above, Traveler's Tales, Warner Bros., and Marvel Entertainment offer potential players of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2 an exclusive look at all of the action, mayhem, and fun soon to be had in the video game proper. Taking a wide smattering of comic book sources for inspiration this time around, the new production is slated to allow players to explore the following range of adventures, per the official press release:

"Players will go head-to-head with the time-traveling Kang the Conqueror in an epic battle across Chronopolis, from Ancient Egypt and The Old West to Sakaar and New York City in 2099. Along the way, gamers will be able to take control of a host of iconic characters, from Cowboy Captain America from the past to Spider-Man 2099 from the future along with Thor, Hulk, the Guardians of the Galaxy, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, Doctor Strange, Green Goblin, and dozens of other Marvel Super Heroes and Super Villains."

Ostensibly expanding upon all of the irreverent self-reference that made the original game such a joy for die-hard fans and casual players alike to dig into, LEGO Marvel Superheroes 2 is sure to be another welcome entry form the larger catalog of LEGO-themed games from Traveler's Tales. And after seeing what the acclaimed developer was able to do with LEGO Marvel's Avengers early last year, their latest release is sure to up the ante even further.

As Marvel continues to expand into the realm of the video game industry - with the forthcoming PS4 exclusive Spider-Man title and a multi-game partnership with Square Enix already in the offing - things are looking up for the likes of LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2.
