I did see the original. I didn’t like it. I’m pretty sure I didn’t see an uncut version so it was kind of boring. And the 2 bumbling cops were frickin annoying. I guess they were supposed to be comic relief or something…
This one actually looks better. I’ll have to watch the uncut version of the original tho because people keep telling me how awesome it is.

This doesn’t look scary at all less like a horror movie and more like a family action-thriller type deal very tame i hope this trailer doesn’t give a good feel for the amount of terror in the movie I expect more from a master of horror like Wes Craven

If Wes Craven is behind it then I’m behind it.

Anything Wes wants I will support.

Ross? The Assassination of Jesse James, your best of 07? Why??????

I saw the original. The “bumbling cops’ were intentional. I listened to the commentary track and making of on the DVD. Very informative.

I can see the main difference between the two films already. Its unfortunate they did what they did but if that change works, who knows.

I’ve written a couple of posts on the subject:
The Last House on the Left remake. Oh Christ no.

@Ray O,

Oh it most definitely was. It was a magnificent piece of work, a film unlike any other I’ve seen in quite a while. The cinematography – stunning, the acting – fantastic, the story – engrossing, the atmosphere – sublime. It’s one of those rare films where the atmosphere just sucks me and I could watch for hours and hours.

I can’t explain it much more than that – everyone has those movies every now and then which, for whatever reason, just strike the right chords with YOU and Jesse James was one of mine.

It’s a rare masterpiece.

I saw ‘The Last House on the Left’ about threee years ago (original). It was one of the most engrossing horrifying movies I’ve ever seen. Horrifying meaning turning your stomach because of what your eyes are seeing. If the new does encompass what the original laid out then the trailer for the new movie is PG13 compared to what actually takes place.

So far from the trailer I can see that they definitely have modified the story line a bit …. they probably figured it would relate to our current time.

I defnitely would like to have seen the remake based in the original time, 70s.
