Warning! Spoilers for Star Wars: The Halcyon Legacy #4

The Clone Wars’ fan favorite pirate Hondo is competing with Lando Calrissian during a heist in a new Star Wars comic. The two smuggler pilots cross paths when a priceless jewel is at stake.

Although the Star Wars galaxy is vast, it seems like every known character inevitably meets one another if they occupy the same point in the saga timeline. As the 5-issue miniseries Star Wars: The Halcyon Legacy stretches centuries between stories, the title is now approaching familiar territory around the time of the original trilogy. The title was meant to create context for the Walt Disney World Resort’s Galactic Starcruiser. While it’s unlikely that a comic might make the experience any more appealing to fans, there is still an audience for the miniseries. The anthology comic continues with The Halcyon Legacy #4, written by Ethan Sacks with art by Will Sliney, a cover by E.M. Gist, and two variant covers by Rahazzah and Sliney.

In the upcoming issue, Lando will be competing against Hondo as they both go after the same jewel. However, a mysterious person is putting both of their heists at risk. First introduced in the animated series The Clone Wars, Hondo quickly became a fan favorite character. Now, the two smugglers are being put to the test as they reveal who is the best at pulling off a heist. Several years into the future, Crimson Jack is about to capture the Halcyon, possibly destroying it. The issue is set to release in April.

This isn’t the first time lately that Star Wars comics have seen heists involving mysterious valuable objects. In a strange coincidence, other issues releasing in the month of April including Crimson Reign #4 and Han Solo & Chewbacca #2 are also based around heists with undisclosed objects. While Han, Chewie, and Greedo work for Jabba the Hutt in a job that famously goes wrong, the Knights of Ren are tasked with stealing a mystery item from a vault in Fortress Vader on Mustafar. Despite being set around similar points in time, none of the heists are believed to have any relation.

As The Halcyon Legacy continues to tell stories connecting to the Disney World Resort’s upcoming attraction, the miniseries could go anywhere. Initially, it was said the last issue should reach The Rise of Skywalker, a few decades away from the fourth issue. While the miniseries might not have a big impact on the Star Wars galaxy, Lando and Hondo could prove to be companions by its conclusion.
