  1. That Iron Man artwork is a total rip-off (or Hommage, as rip-offs are being called these days):

    • *homage

      • Yeah, apparently one of the Iron Man comic book covers from however many years ago was an homage to The Rocketeer.

    • Not to mention the cover of Iron Man: Enter The Mandarin #1…

      • Let’s try that again:

        • That’s probably the one I was talking about.

          • If the poster looked more like that, it won’t be such an obvious rip off of the Rocketeer poster. Unfortunately today the difference between an homage and a rip off is determined by the audience response. Even though personal opinion shouldn’t play a role in answering the question. It’s too arbitrary.

  2. Can we stop with the Manti’ Teo stuff? Not TV or Movie related and I am sick of hearing about this guy. I always look forward to Geek Picks, let’s just stick to Movies and TV stuff.

    • Ah…Lance Armstrong was up there, too.

      • Ah…What’s your point? I know it was up there but it’s not necessary to sit here and evaluate like this some sort of term-paper. I gave ONE example… Pat yourself on the back, Sherlock.

Like I said, I like Geek Picks and look forward to it. But Teo, Armstrong (happy now?), and NFL Bad Lip Reading (while all funny) are just viral videos that end up in my inbox anyway. Justin’s always done a good job at finding the Geekery of the internet and condensing it here. That’s the stuff that doesn’t get emailed to me. That’s why I like Geek Picks.

        • Haha. Okay…lighten up, Francis.

          The Big Toe

        • To be fair those interviews were on TV. So the are more TV or movie related than a pixelated flower. Maybe the problem is that stuff about athletes isn’t the right genre. Sometimes I do think Screenrant should change its name to SciFiFantasyComicBookMovieWithTheOccasionalMovieForRegularPeopleRant.

  3. Christian bale is much nicer than his terminator salvation stuff would make you think.

    • That’s the thing, he got pissed off and went a little over the top once, it was forgotten about after her apologised, the media picked up on it weeks later and since then people have had a perception of him being that kind of guy over one incident when he’s actually a damn good person from what I can tell.

I mean, didn’t he cut his vacation so he could go to Aurora and speak to the families of the shooter’s victims last summer and stood paying respects at the theater it happened for at least 10 minutes, adding to the memorial that had gone up in tribute.

    • The media has the tendency to blow everything out of proportion, and many in the public are naive enough to believe it. I could segway into politics here, but I won’t…

      • Haha, yeah, I know what you mean though.

For instance, I used to volunteer as a staff member on Dave Bautista’s official website and message boards years ago before he retired from pro wrestling. One of the nicest guys you could ever meet but rumours still persisted that he was somehow arrogant and hateful.

There was even one rumour about him verbally abusing a little girl in a wheelchair, refusing to have a picture taken with her and laughing when she cried at a signing the day before Wrestlemania 24.

Thing is, I was actually at that signing as a VIP guest of his and the only girl who matched that description during the entire signing was pretty much treated like the most important person in the world by him, asking if she wanted a pic with him, really being generous and accommodating to her and trying to comfort her when she got overwhelmed at meeting him.

Unfortunately, rumours persist and people believe BS.

  4. That must be Picard’s secret pleasure for the Holodeck.

  5. Christian Bale is so awesome :)

  6. I am heterosexual!!!

  7. Why, Why, Manti was pretty funny. Love the AT-AT cake too :)

  8. Their will never be a show like that Crypt Keeper show ever again. Shows for kids have to be so safe now.

  9. I liked the Lance “Creep” video. Props to the guy who cut that together. He also did an excellent “Welcome to the Jungle” with The Jungle Book.

  10. Christian Bale is the man. He’s awesome.

  11. Bale is awesome. Too many Hollywood stars wouldn’t take 10 min out of their day to call a sick kid, which would probably be the most worthwhile thing any of them has ever done.

Also, me and my family always wondered how many days Phil Connors was forced to re-live in Groundhog Day. 3176…wow.
