I mean let’s face it, who’d put their hand in their pocket and buy tickets to see the Arnie version of Total Recall at the movies again? Maybe you were too young when it first came out, like I was. I’d damn sure go and pay. They ought to be thinking re-release, not re-make.

I have to agree, I really don’t see any legitimate reason for re-making this sci-fi classic, apart from the desire to make a big pile of money. My personal opinion is that this will be a total flop unless they get cinematographers and set-builders on a level with the guys who worked on the original (who also worked on Starship Troopers by the way, another sci-fi masterpiece). They’re trying to fill some massive shoes here. Time will tell…

I heard thier remaking highlander, the last starfighter, back to the future, ghostbusters (or possibly sequeling still up to the air). a total of 55 remakes planned for 2010-11 .wtf and thats not counting book to movies or tv to movies. lmao. remember gang, dont copy movies, but by god, we'll rip off our own stuff all we want *cough alice in wonderland=disneys hook cough*

the original is a remake. im officialy giving up on movies. especialy after hearing that regal, amc etc. are raising thier prices 3-4 dollars, especialy for the 3d films this year. no way am i spending 17.50 to go see a remake. f* tron 2. f* nightmare. F* hollywood and movies. Im investing in videogames and books and giving up .

@Ash Ali, I respect your opinions but do reconsider about Total Recall. It is not a sub-par scifi flick, there are a lot of things going on in the film
For one it has shades of North By Northwest, this big mystery of who or what is Quaid. Then the whole backstory of a rebel revolt against a corporation run government, the effects of radiation with human/mutants, etc.
Also the biggest idea in Recall of whether everything is a dream or not, are we in a dream world or do we need to wake up. What is real? The Matrix surely borrowed HEAVILY from Recall, even down to the Red Pill!

Total Recall=Classic!

Great, Wimmer, Equilibrium was cool, but that’s his “formula.” He tried the SAME EXACT formula for Ultraviolet and it was completely stupid. Watch him try for the same stuff in Total Recall…

There’s pretty much no way that this can be better than the original.Sure,it will look better with all the supped up CG,but it’s just totally unnecessary.

Besides,there’s no way that the new cast can even come close to the original cast.

Terrible idea! The original is classic. I have no problem with creating a different story (and different movie) based on the same story by Philip Dick. But don’t name it Total Recall!

Wimmer rules for just making Equilibrium, the one film that we can truly say that made Net Geeks recognize Christian Bale. Ultraviolet, the only thing good about that shyte was the costumes but I cannot believe I paid to see that pile of garbage.

If this is based on the original story then why even bother connecting it to another one of the King’s Classic films?
