The Twilight Saga is nearing its end and its stars will scatter throughout the industry, expanding their careers with other projects, some already having been attached to upcoming major projects. What will Kristen Stewart do once her career-defining role as Bella sees its end next year? Will she spend her time making more low-key indie flicks? Will she partake in other big budget mainstream blockbusters and potential franchises?

This has been a common subject this week with Stewart making plenty of headlines as her name tosses around and between two upcoming major films. On one side, she’s tested for the title role of Snow White in Snow White and the Huntsman and on the other, she’s rumored to have read for the part of Lois Lane in Superman: Man of Steel.

[Update: Viggo Mortensen has dropped out of negotiations with Universal and will not be in Snow White and the Huntsman.]

With Henry Cavill being cast as Clark Kent in the Superman film franchise reboot on the weekend, rumors and reports about the short list of talent testing for the lead female role in the film have been running rampant. Yesterday we reported on two confirmed actresses in contention, Rachel McAdams and Olivia Wilde, but Kristen Stewart is also rumored to have tested for the part and turned it down.

It’s a bit of a sticky issue at the moment with the NY Daily News claiming to have insiders close to director Zack Snyder and Kristen Stewart who report that Snyder was interested in Stewart – although hadn’t put out an offer yet – but Stewart didn’t read for the part because she was weary of jumping into the limelight again in another multi-picture major role. People’s people claim that there’s no truth to any of the rumors and that Stewart was never even approached for the role. What does this all mean? Nothing. It’s Hollywood and she’s got another gig instead. Moving along…

So, while Stewart won’t work for the Daily Planet, she will play Snow White opposite everyone’s favorite Viggo Mortensen. Last week we reported that Stewart was a candidate for the role in the alternate take on the Brothers Grimm classic fairy tale, Snow White and the Huntsman, and now THR’s Heat Vision blog has the scoop that she’s the chosen one and that they’ve moved into the negotiations stage with Universal Pictures.

Can you picture Kristen Stewart playing Snow White or Lois Lane?

Superman: Man of Steel is targeting a December 2012 release date and is still trying to find its Lois Lane.

  1. great… more shaking and stuttering from her

    • Lol, my thoughts exactly! Don’t forget the annoying lip lick!

    • Yah! SnOW WhItE Is SSOSOSOSOOSSOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO kEwL!!!!1111 unlike that stoopid supaman guy who can fly, shoot laser out of his eyes, has freeze breath, came from another planet, has the streangth to move planets with his hands, has stayed relevant in pop culture for more than 70 years, inspired a comic culture boom aswell as a super hero trend that eventually produced the super hero movie genre today which is currently worth a BILLION DOLLARS. But other than that snow white is so much more kewler than that geek! and kristin was n twilight!!!!1111 the true definition of kewl!111

    • ewww. how do you like her? she cant act
      she cant act
      she cant act

      • here here , she is terrible. this girl really needs to do the whole Megan Fox thing and just fade away

        • Have u ever watched any other K-Stew movie other thatn Twilight? Watch Into The Wild, Runaways, Speak, Welcome To The Rileys before u say she can’t act!!!

She’s awesome!! I can picture her as Snow White!

  2. “Can you picture Kristen Stewart playing Snow White or Lois Lane?”

  3. “The Twilight Saga is nearing its end”

That was my favorite part of the article.

    • Same! :)

    • Pretty much

    • I was just about to post something similar.

“The Twilight Saga is nearing its end”

Hallelluia!!! Oh, was that out loud? 😎

    • Yep – guess that means it’s about time for a reboot.

      • LMFAO!! Good one AT!!!

  4. isn’t disney bringing out snow white again? how many versions of snow white are they going to bring out. im more interested in tim burton’s sleeping beauty then snow white.

  5. Ok I freaking LOVE Superman and I would see this movie for anything. But if he played Lois, I would burn the theatre down! Ok maybe not, but I would boycott the movie like crazy.

Glad to hear that she’s not… (sigh of relief)

  6. …also Rachel McAdams for Lois all the way!!! I think she would be great!

  7. Viggo Mortensen is old enough to be Kristen Stewart’s grandfather. I find this pairing rather icky. Has he ever played the devil? He looks like Mephistopheles in that wretched picture.

    • His character is acting as a mentor to Kristen’s character so age isn’t a problem

      • Oh. They could work well together. We’ll have to hope that the director’s “take” on the fairytale doesn’t cheapen the story.

    • He did in fact play lucifer in The Prophecy, and was in my opinion one of the best portrayals of the Devil I’ve ever seen

      • While he was good as satan, I think Al Pacino was better.

        • I haven’t seen Pacino’s yet, I assume you mean Devil’s Advocate? I keep meaning to watch that… But yeah, I just meant it was better and more creative than most portrayals of Satan

  8. Wow, seriously? This just killed any chance of me watching this movie! Thank God she doesn’t want to be Lois Lane! I was beginning to panic when I heard that rumor. She is the death of any film she takes part in.

Note to Kristen Bell or whatever the he|| her name is: Go crawl back under the rock you came from. We don’t want you in Hollywood!

    • PLEASE don’t equate Kristen Bell with this talentless piece of garbage. I happen to be quite fond of Kristen Bell. She is pretty funny lady!

      • I like both the Kristens, but comparatively Bell doesn’t have as much acting talent as Stewart (don’t let Twilight be the movie u judge her on)! I agree Bell’s funnier though.

    • Well Said!!! She is a Horrible actress, and that is an insult to actual “actresses”…I hope after this Twilight craze her so called career heads down hill. I love Snow White and now I will not be able to watch this because of her!!!

Monica Keena did a great job as Snow White: A Tale of Terror, too bad Hollywood has to ruin it with bad casting!

  9. Ok I wont be watching Snow white. Oh well they ruined it themselves.

  10. @Gina – Vigo M. is only 52, NOT old enough to have a 21 year old grandchild unless he himself and his own kids had children when they were barely in their teens.

  11. I always picture the suppose Kristin Stewart audition like that scene from Goodfellas where Joe Tommy is telling a story and everybody is laughing having a good time then Henry tells him his a funny guy and everybody gets a serious and the look on their faces off devastion and knowing something really bad was about to happen. That’s what Snyder must have saw.

    • Stewart: Oh Mr. Snyder, you’re so funny
Snyder: What do you mean funny?
Stewart: You know, the way you tell the story; funny
Synder: How am I funny?! Do you mean funny, like a clown; I amuse you??!! How the *(&^ am I funny???!!!

Synder shoots Stewart. End of line.

  12. Bullet dodged!! She’d have been worse than Bosworth AND Kidder by a long shot. Rachel MacAdams would be the best choice (besides Erica Durance of course!!)

  13. i actually like kristen stewart. yes, the twilight movies aren’t the best but i like some of her other movies that i have seen. could i have seen her as lois lane, no, but as snow white i think i could.

    • I completely agree with u Rachel. She’s perfect for Snow White. If she doesn’t play in it, I’m not watching it! Erica Durance would be great for Lois Lane.

  14. I was just thinking that Jennifer Connelly would have made a great Lois Lane in SR instead of Bosworth….

  15. The best thing she ever did was answer the door in Jumper. Why? Because all she did was call for her mom (Diane Lane) and walk upstairs.

    Her best work really…

  16. Snow White will ne amazing now that Kristen is in the lead role! Twilight isn’t the movie franchise that brings out her great acting skills!
I for one, can’t wait for this movie to be released by the end of next year!

  17. This is one movie I’ll be boycotting. Mostly because of Kristen Stewart. She used to be such a good actress. She went downhill right before Twilight, I believe it was right after Zathura. If she went back to theatre school, I might start liking her again. She’s gotten quite cocky about her abilities and doesn’t even seem to really try anymore. It’s quite sad.

By the way, are they still holding auditions for Lois Lane? I would be GLAD to audition! ;-D
