Twentieth Century Fox has released a red band trailer for Kingsman: The Golden Circle, which features agent Eggsy (Taron Edgerton) dropping the F-bomb. Directed by Matthew Vaughn, The Golden Circle, of course, is the hotly anticipated sequel to the 2015 smash Kingsman: The Secret Service, based on Mark Millar and Dave Gibbons' graphic novel series that kicked off in 2012. Fox released the film version of The Secret Service rated R, beginning the studio's welcome trend for mature comic book movies that would continue with Deadpool in 2016 and Logan earlier this year.

Fans can expect another no-holds-barred superspy romp from Vaughn with The Golden Circle, which is pegged for a September release. Following up the release of the first Golden Circle trailer on Monday, Fox released a red band version of the trailer on Wednesday that includes an F-bomb from Eggsy at the conclusion. It's in an apparent reaction to the revelation that presumed dead Kingsman agent Harry Hart (Colin Firth) is still very much alive (and wearing a patch over his left eye), and after taking a head shot in The Secret Service.

Fans may be disappointed to find out that the red band trailer is essentially the same trailer as the green band release, with Eggsy's F-bomb tacked on to earn its red band standing. Even if you've already seen the green band version, the red band version is still worth a look just because the film looks so outrageously entertaining (Besides, can anybody ever get enough of Frank Sinatra's "My Way"?). In addition to the return of Harry, Merlin (Mark Strong), Roxy (Sophie Cookson) and Charlie (Edward Holcroft), The Golden Circle introduces the U.S. spy agency The Statesman, which includes Channing Tatum, Halle Berry, Jeff Bridges and Pedro Pascal. Julianne Moore is playing the film's villain, Poppy, while Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Elton John also receives star billing in an unspecified role.

It's hard to figure out exactly why Fox would release a red band trailer that's virtually the same as its green band version from a couple days before. Perhaps they're doing it as a reminder the Kingsman: The Golden Circle is indeed going to rated R when it's released Sept. 22, featuring the same sort of unfiltered, over-the-top violence that made The Secret Service so refreshing. It is worthy to note that for time being, The Golden Circle has not been tagged with any rating, as that will come in a few months when it goes before the MPAA. In the interim, fans can only hope that new footage and dialogue worth of a red band trailer will be assembled to give moviegoers a sense of the film's edgy tone.

In the meantime, fans can at least enjoy the announcement from Millar Tuesday that a new installment in the graphic novel series, Kingsman: The Red Diamond, is coming out prior to release of The Golden Circle in theaters. As long as The Golden Circle lives up to its promise – and there's no reason to believe that it won't, especially with four Oscar-winners in its cast (Firth, Moore, Berry and Bridges) – the announcement of The Red Diamond is exciting because it will provide material for more Kingsman big screen adventures to come.
