Jackie Earley Haley as Freddy seems reasonable enough, but isn't he like ten years younger than Robert Englund? Why not just bring him back? But that's not the point. Am I excited for this? Not really. I commented on a previous story about it and I'll say it here as well. This horror series has more potential than any other horror franchise. Why? Because it deals with the power of the human mind. In the original it is toyed with at the end when Nancy realizes she's been giving him his power the whole time because of her fear. So why wouldn't they try to inject some smarts into it and try to combine the horror aspects of it with a psychological thriller instead of making it a movie about a guy killing people when they sleep? Try answering those questions instead of just piling up the bodies.

You can put however many big names you want into this movie, but I'm going to expect something like that and I'm going to want something like that because this franchise differs from all the others in that way. Will they do anything remotely questioning the power of the human mind? Probably not. Will they answer any backstory questions we may have? There is no need for that. Why try and do a remake when there is no need for it, unless you try to do something new?

Every horror remake in recent memory has been terrible. Every last one of them. This is just another waste of a brilliant movie. No Englund? No thanks.

Yes! I am totally hyped about the remake. Yes, I have a hard time letting go of the original. But the point to me is that they are keeping the Nightmare legend alive. Maybe not how I would like to it be, but it will appear to a whole new generation, and to me, that is the most important.Freddy lives.....

Ohhh and P.S.......Rob's remake of Halloween was great I thought!

She's also on 'Harper's Island'. She looks better w/ dark hair.

I'm waiting for a trailer before I decide if I want to see this. I just hope they don't turn it into Tits N Guts. I love me some guts (tits, not so much) but it should be scary and gore doesn't necessarily equal scary.
