Justin Timberlake May Be ‘I’m.mortal’
Jul 28, 2010 by Sandy SchaeferJustin Timberlake has been offered the lead in I’m.mortal, an intriguing new sci-fi/action film from Andrew Niccol, writer/director of Gattaca.

The man with the attractive posterior side, Justin Timberlake, may have found his next acting gig. It seems that he is up for the lead role in the futuristic science-fiction tale, I’m.mortal.
Timberlake would join recent addition Amanda Seyfried in the film, which is based on an original idea by Andrew Niccol – the man who wrote the screenplay for the thinking man’s sci-fi drama, Gattaca, and the satirical Jim Carrey vehicle, The Truman Show.
I’m.mortal imagines a world in which humans are genetically engineered to stop aging at age 25, but must pay for time in order to remain alive thereafter. Timberlake would play a rebellious, lower-class man who is falsely accused of murdering a wealthy patron for his time and must go on the run.
Seyfried will appear as a beautiful, upper-class citizen who is taken hostage by Timberlake. The two struggle to remain alive while evading the forces of the oppressive society in which they live. Events take a turn for the potentially cheesy when the two realize that love is far more important than living forever.
Niccol has been responsible for some high-concept, intellectually stimulating projects in the past and I’m.mortal sounds like no exception. I just hope that the final product does not descend into the kind of corniness that the above description hints that it could.

Timberlake has appeared in some interesting titles over the last few years, including the bizarre Richard Kelley flick Southland Tales, the throwback to blaxploitation that was Black Snake Moan, and even David Fincher’s upcoming Facebook movie, The Social Network. Could he be genuinely interested in establishing himself as a versatile actor?
If the musician does decide to join the cast of I’m.mortal, it would certainly be another step in the right direction. He will next provide the voice of Boo-Boo Bear in the CG/live-action Yogi Bear movie – so take all this as you will.
I’m.mortal should reach theaters sometime in 2011.

Well, guess I won’t be watching this future piece of garbage.
If ever they’d consider making a movie out of the 80′s TV series hit “The Greatest American Heroe”, they should take JT in. Perfect role for him! LOL!
They should change the name of this project to I’m.moron
