YES!! BRING IT ON!!!!

The choices for Gl/Stewart,WW and even Flash/Barry Allen are fine, not sure what to make of Hugh Keays-Byrne as Martian Manhunter or Armie Hammer as Batman (both are not confirmed??) but I hope they’ll be good.

I’m just happy that Superman and Batman are still in it!!!! :-D
I really hope they get someone GOOD for Superman, like TOM WELLING cuz Routh isn’t in it. This rumored guy DJ Cotrona is TOO damn short. He’d be a horrible Superman cuz of that.

That said,I am pro this movie being made. I just hope it’s good.

And remember, other than obvious bad casting like Cotrona as Supes,we should give these guys a chance. People flipped out when Maguire was cast as Spidey and Keaton was cast as Batman and both turned out great. I’m hoping for that sort of scenario with this film. :-)

I would be for them doing this in Japanese Anime. It would be cheaper and America just haven’t tapped into that industry yet. Not the “eyes are bigger than your mouth” Anime but the “Ninja Scroll”-type Anime.

This project continues to baffle me.
Its clearly a film that (allready) has major problems casting wise, and since that’s true can you imagine the script for this thing.
They should title it JLA/D.O.A.

This freakin thing is still waiting for someone to throw it in first gear, but the driver hasn’t even found his keys!

Property? - check
Cast? - 1/2 check
Script? - check, erased, check, scratch (will work on it)
Fans hoping this isn’t as bad as it sounds? - BIG check

I absolutely hate this so much and I wish to god they would not make this.

However, if Routh and Bale were in it, I think I would be incredibly excited to see it. Imagine how amazing that would be? Especially if they filmed in such a style matching the new batman films or Singer’s Superman

Guys, they probably have a full cast. They just haven’t shown it to us yet. Matter of fact, they probably have a lot of things we don’t know/can only speculate about.

Remember,we’re not looking at this as the big picture, only WB can do that (obviously). All we are seeing are pieces of the puzzle. Patience……

And since production is resuming in spring/summer than they could still cast at least Routh as Superman which would be GREAT,IMO.

I think what’s going to happen is IRON MAN and BATMAN are going to be SO HUGE in a few. months its going to
get whoevers sitting on JLA/production off there butts.

Then its going to get rushed into production and ruined.
It will prob still make 40 mill but the film will be horribly cast with prob a crap story.
(This is just baised on my opinion from what I’ve seen happen before).
^
KEL, (IMO)
The facts that this production is obviously stalled by who knows what the real reason is, shows me that the script can’t be that good.

Production can’t start without an approved script even more so in this case.

I really think this blockbuster summer is going to cause a chain reaction in the Superhero genre In a way that your gonna see ALOT more DC and Marvel films.

Good ones and craptacular ones.

Vic, the problems actually started *before* Miller. The problems started way back when the script-writers were hired.

They got producers’ attention with their re-write of Mr. and Mrs. Smith. No harm there; that was a surprisingly entertaining movie. Before this credit, one of the writers, Kieran Mulroney, was best known for his work guest-starring on a string of CBS snoozers like Navy NCIS, Judging Amy, The Guardian, Touched by an Angel, and Nash Bridges. The dude has had steady work for years, but he’s probably still talking about the one episode of Seinfeld he did in 1993. Meanwhile, his writing partner, wife Michele Mulroney, is best known for… oh, wait: nothing. (Except, of course, for being sister-in-law to Dermot Mulroney. Well done on that one, sister.)

Anyway, point is… the whole project has shown very little respect for the property from the very beginning… Miller was just another nail in the coffin. Bastards.

aaah just as I suspected.

KEL could write a better (true to the characters) script then them…

“I have a bad feeling about this”… And I’m not just quoting Obi Wan………

Vic,I liked how in your post you expressed that you wanted the film to be good, even tho right now from where we see things it seems doubtful.

And hey Steve! Thanks for the shout out,old chum! I’d LOVE to write a JLA script!! Or at least choose its writers…. :-)
The people at WB seemed to really like the script that they got last year (could be a good or bad thing) they just said that some things needed to be tweaked (again, could be good or bad). I think tho that the script probably had a few B.S.ers, one of the production crew members told comics2film a couple months ago that he wants the film to happen but being a big comix fan he said that the script needs a re-write. So,IMO,it’s a safe bet that this re-write is a VERY good thing.

Of course, if WB is run by guys like Jon Peters ( http://singerssupermansucks.blogspot.com/2007/12/jon-peters-is-class-act.html ),there’s no telling what type of crap they think is a great script.

And Great White Snark, you hit the nail on the head,IMO. :-)
I REALLY hope the film will turn out good tho and that we’ll be pleasantly surprised within the next few months at the direction the film takes.

And personally,I think that Armie Hammer was cast as Superman. He honestly would be a better Superman than Batman anyway…after watching those U tube vids of him on Desperate Housewives (a show that sucks and that I usually have ZERO interest in,FYI,y’all) that’s what I think. He’s 6′ 5′,has blue eyes, the square jaw and voice to be some superhero. Only prob with casting him as Superman (or Batman) is that he’d need to have his sandy blonde hair dyed black. Oh, yeah, that and he seems too young. ;-)
A better choice for Superman than frickin’ 5′ 9′ DJ Cotrona tho. Yeah, that’s great. Cast lil five niner DJ next to the freakin’ 6′ 5′ baking soda boy as Batman. Not to mention Batman will have those 5 inch ears on his cowl, making him look even taller. Brilliant,WB. :-/

DJ Cotrona was actually believed to have been cast as Batman earlier last year until the Hollywood Reporter had listed him as Superman. While a bad choice for either role (from where I sit anyway, hope I’m wrong tho,but I KNOW I’m not wrong about Superman, believe me),methinks that DJ Cotrona would be a better Batman than Superman and that baking soda boy was cast as Superman and lil DJ was in fact cast as Bats (the ears will make him look taller standing next to Arm and Hammer as Superman). If WB had any sense with what to do with their stellar cast that’s what they’d do anyway…..big IF tho…. ;-)
