After a 2016 that saw numerous ups and downs, Warner Bros. is hoping 2017 brings brighter fortunes for the DC Extended Universe. It goes without saying that there's a substantial amount of pressure on their two releases this year - Wonder Woman and Justice League - to perform well, both from a commercial and critical perspective. If the franchise is to continue to thrive in the future, WB needs these projects to find a great deal of success and establish some forward momentum. They seem to be on the right track, as the trailers for the two films have generated a great deal of excitement.

Wonder Woman is first on the docket with a June premiere, but Justice League is arguably the bigger deal, uniting several iconic DC heroes for the first time in live-action form. Much of the early marketing has revolved around this aspect, showcasing the team coming together and uniting under a common goal. Since the first teaser debuted at San Diego Comic-Con 2016, advertising for the film has largely consisted of still images featuring the core group preparing for a fight. Now, another photo has been revealed, featuring Batman getting a partial Justice League ready.

The picture comes from an unknown film magazine (hat tip Twitter user Borg Lupe). In it, the Caped Crusader is joined by his allies Wonder Woman, The Flash, and Cyborg, who are all geared up. The post includes an unattributed quote that explains why the Justice League is a dangerous opponent for threats. You can check it out below:

Nothing new can be gleaned from this image (it seems to be taken from a scene in the trailer), but it nevertheless is exciting for fans to see their favorite characters in the same place. Unless Aquaman is off-camera somewhere, this moment from Justice League probably takes place when the King of Atlantis has not yet signed up for the team. Those who saw the teaser remember that Curry wasn't exactly willing to join when first asked, so on this mission at least, Bruce Wayne and Diana Prince will have to make do with Barry Allen and Victor Stone - which will hopefully be enough. We know from other promotional items that Aquaman (and eventually Superman) join their ranks, but at the outset it's just four.

Though Justice League is still 10 months away from reaching theaters, fans are growing impatient for the arrival of another trailer. Rumors suggest a new preview could be unveiled this spring, but so far nothing official has come out. For WB, Wonder Woman is the top priority for now (since it comes out in five months), so they're in no rush to start the next wave of marketing for Justice League just yet. Soon, viewers will get a better look at what director Zack Snyder has in store, but for now, photos like this will have to be enough to keep the hungry moviegoers at bay until something a little meatier is revealed.
