Tino says:

Common is not 25 years of age…..more like 35.

heath says:

Adam Brody isn’t right for the Flash, who I hear he’s rumored to play. I think he still looks like a 19 year old.

Great post, Vic.

Screen Rant says:

Tino, thanks for pointing that out. I’ve corrected it above.

KEL says:

Teen Titans is right,Vic! I hope to God that this ISN’T the cast, they’re just ridiculously too young. Anyone who knows anything about the JLA knows that each hero (with maybe the exception of the Wally West Flash) was at least 3 years into their career when they joined the team.

This is just….miserable. A JLA movie is a great idea and has tremendous potential at the box office, and it’s sad to see that the cast has been choosen so poorly. They may as well have just made a movie based on the Smallville JLA.

They’ve turned my dream into a nightmare. Hopefully all this will turn out to be false.

KEL says:

I heard that they would announce the “official” cast on November 18th of this year.

Adrian says:

Adam Brody and Common are ok, the rest not so much. Sounds like typical WB too me. At least with this movie (JLA or JL) being made, we’ll have a even better Avengers movie!

KEL says:

Lets hope so. Hopefully this movie’s poor reception won’t affect the production of an Avengers movie.

KEL says:

I would never cast Brody as ANY Flash. Especially Barry Allen. 1,he looks too young,2,Barry has blonde hair,a roblem that they could probably fix. Wally has red hair, tho I’m sure they could fix that too. He would, however, not be a bad choice for Nightwing in a Teen Titans movie. If you look at some of George Perez’s Nightwing artwork, you can see a bit of a resmblence between the 2.

Why in the world would anyone even consider any of those actresses for the part of WW? If you remember, the actresses that previously auditioned for the part were comparatively older women. Victoria Hill,IMO,even tho I’ve never seen her act,was a good choice for WW. She certainly looked the part.

KEL says:

And to think that people actually complained that the cast of Superman Returns was too young…….

KEL says:

Tom Welling’s old enough to be these kids father…..

Screen Rant says:

“Tom Welling’s old enough to be these kids father…..”

Not quite. Unless he became a father at about age 11 or so. :-)

Vic

KEL says:

Ahh true. You’ve obviously done your homework,I was being sarcastic though. A father at 11,sheesh!

Endri says:

The superheroes in JLA are old at least in theyre late 30’s early 40’s.

That is the whole point of team up’s they have experience being a sperhero now the threat is greater that they can not do it alone they need each other to save the world (not go in dates with each other).

Gary says:

geez this and a rumored teen thor
does this stuff ever stop?

Screen Rant says:

They want to appeal to their target audience. Thank goodness toddlers aren’t fans of superhero movies or we’d REALLY be in trouble.

Vic

ZAR says:

Save money on established actors (or ones that may ask for too much money if they already played the character) and start a new franchise. THAT’s what’s it all about in this case. Not “fresh young faces”.

ZAR.

Screen Rant says:

There are plenty of slightly older actors that are not well known.

Vic

KEL says:

Exactly,Vic.

Alex says:

“Thank goodness toddlers aren’t fans of superhero movies or we’d REALLY be in trouble.”

Good Gosh, I wish they were.

I’m pretty sure a JLA movie in the vein of “Tiny Toons” or “Baby Geniuses” is exactly what the studios need.

It would be so perfect. Discussing Lex Luthor’s premature baldness. Early on-set tights chaffing.

/Sarcasm.

Clearly, this movie should never be made unless they get a truly appropriate cast involved.

I would rather see Val Kilmer as Batman, yes, you heard me, than some kid actor with a pretty-boy face helming a movie with potential.

I’d hope it’s Christian Bale.
I’d hope it’s Tom Welling.
Heck, even the aging Lynda Carter.

Not teeny-boppers with a manager.

Common. Well, I hope he’s not playing the Green Lantern. After the damage that was “Smokin’ Aces,” I’d like to hope we’d see less of these ‘rapper-turned-actors’ in movies that I actually want to see.

Speaking of Smokin’ Aces, I heard someone mention Ryan Reynolds and The Flash in the same sentence.

And I’m not entirely against that.

I don’t know. I would rather it didn’t get made. Doesn’t really matter, I don’t like DC Comics all that much, anyhow. Although, if the movie is to be made, make it with actors who have an established fan-base as the characters they portray.

Don’t work against your fans, work with them, and you’ll have a hit.

You want proof?
Serenity.

Screen Rant says:

Serenity was fantastic but it wasn’t a box office hit by any stretch (mainly due to a poor marketing effort).

Reynolds has been rumored to play the Flash for a very long time, even before all this JL movie nonsense.

Vic

Alex says:

You are correct.

It’s Box Office response was barely lukewarm.

But it’s DVD sales were phenomenal.

If you are going young like that maybe you should case Tyson B. from american top model

With the cast you have now, I think that Common would be to old. You need a man that has the look and body to feel the role. I think Tyson Beckford would feel the role perfect! And he’s in the age group too. What do you think? But if you want to target the “semi-rap” groupies, then he’s your MAN. Tell men what you think?? MB..out

Kevin says:

What do you think???

Batman – Christian Bale

Superman – Brandon Routh

Wonder Woman – Megan Fox

Flash (Wally West)- Shia LeBaouf, Drake Bell or someone like those

Green Lantern – Tyson B. (with or without hair)

Hawkgirl – Maria Kanellis (JAJA)

Martian Manhunter – Common (with make – up) (obviously)

Zatanna – Julie Andrews (from Enchanted) or someone young

Green Arrow or Aquaman – That guy of Pirates of the Caribbean (Will Turner)

gabe says:

I think that the justice league should have:

Superman: from Superman Returns
Batman: from The Dark Night

and all those guys up top except for Max Thieriot, seems like he could play robin from teen titans

what you guys think?

Ben says:

chyea ryan reynolds would b cool as flash

FRED says:

If Jim Carrey were only younger. He would make a perfect Wally West/Flash. He is super funny and can actually act quiet well. Maybe CGI to make him look younger.
Lucy Lawless looks the part for Wonder Woman-WW is a tough girl. But if only Lucy were younger.

FRED says:

If 50 cent can actually act-he could play John Stewart. But I doubt it-he just wants to blow someone up. Will Smith is my prefered John Stewart-has the build, tough guy acting chops and the height, plus the experience to make Green Lanturn a character of realism, but most people tend to disagree.

Becky says:

Hey, I think that the cast is O.K. I would REALLY wanna be in this movies because I’m a HUGS SUPER-HERO FAN!!!!!!!!!!! I would love to be Super-Girl, and I also look like her. I wish there were auditions. It sucks, that you can’t audition for a movie because your not ” Famous”. I would be a beautiful, and great Super-Girl!

Becky says:

WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK~

Batman-Christian Bale(He’s an amzing Batman. I CANNOT see anyone else playing him!)

SuperMan-DEFINETELY Brandon Routh

Flash-

Wonder Woman-Megan fox or Angelina Jolie

HawkGirl-Maria Kanellis

Green Lantern-Terrence Howard

SuperGirl-Me!(Becky)or Hayden Panettiere

That’s all I can think of. I loved the Justice League…Since I could talk! And Superheros…This would be AMAZING if I could be in this movie or at least AUDITION!!!!!! Any audition information would be amazing. So if you have info. on it PLEASE tell me. I look like Super-Girl too! I kinda have the same face as her, and type of hair. Anyways, I have almost the same ideas as Kevin ^ has. Thanks.
