Justice Leauge Crisis Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths Trailer

Back when I reviewed DC Universe’s most excellent Superman/Batman: Public Enemies animated feature, my exploration of the special features uncovered a sneak preview of the next offering from DCE’s animated division, Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. Taken from DC’s famous “Crisis” canon of stories, the new direct-to-DVD/Blu-ray will focus on our favorite superhero team’s perilous adventure to an alternate Earth.

Well, now an official trailer for Crisis on Two Earths has hit the web, and courtesy of IGN we have to share.

In Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths, Superman (Mark Harmon), Batman (William Baldwin), Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash and Martian Manhunter are contacted by Lex Luthor (Chris North) – only this isn’t the Lex we all know and hate, but rather a Luthor from an alternate universe where the evil genius is actually a superhero and the world has been conquered by a team of super beings much like the Leaguers themselves. With no heroes left to defend his world, alterno-Lex recruits the Justice League to come to his aid.

Take a look at the trailer for Crisis on Two Earths:

Looks like another fine entry in the DC Universe Canon. Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths will be overseen by animation guru Bruce Timm, while fellow DC Animation vets Lauren Montgomery ((Wonder Woman, Green Lantern: First Flight) and Sam Liu (Superman/Batman) will co-helm. The movie will be available on DVD/Blu-ray in Spring of 2010.

Oh, and yes, that’s James Woods you heard in the trailer – he plays the alterno-version of Batman, Owlman.

What did you think of the trailer?

  1. Looks pretty darn cool to me.

  2. I have been so impressed with all of the DC offerings to date. I can’t wait to view their latest entry for myself.

  3. I Love DC cartoons

  4. DC has been coming out with the greatest toons on DVD.. This ones looking great too. Can’t wait to see it.

  5. It’s authentically messed up that they can produce this, but they get their hands tied up in the live action arena. Disappointing situation really…

  6. Looks Good.

  7. I can’t wait to see this dvd myself. While at the sametime i was hoping Bruce Timm & Co. would bring Justice League: World’s Collide to bridge the gap between Justice League & JLU. Still hope they make it.

  8. Wow! I saw Superman/Batman Public Enemies just recently and I thought it was very well written. This one seem to be headed in that same direction. Can’t wait to see it!

  9. looks amazing

  10. Looks good..I enjoy these animated movies from both DC and Marvel..I would really like to see Final Crisis and Blackest Night get an animation treatment from DC

  11. The president is Deathstroke???

  12. Not interested aa Kevin Conroy aint doing Batman’s voice, in my mind he is Batman whenevr i read the comics. Disappointed!

  13. @ Dr.SamBeckett
I know how you feel, lol. Till this day Kevin Conroy was the best voice actor to voiced Batman. Makes me wish he can get a role as Batman in a live action film. Again, i hope Bruce Timm & Co. make Justice League: World’s Collide or some sort of movie that is connected to JL/JLU animated series. Do they read these posts?

  14. I wish more than anything, that we could get Conroy to dub over all of Christian Bales dialogue from Dark Knight!

Its why Arkham Asylum is one of my favourite games ever, we all have a certain Batman and Joker, for me it is Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill. The animated series is the ultimate Batman, balancing the light and dark perfectly, better than any of the films have.

  15. Ya I saw this trailer available when it was leaked a couple months back. I refused to watch it because I didn’t want to see how awesome it is. I never see the trailers for any of these DC AU movies. I just know they’re going to be good so I don’t spoil myself.

I still haven’t watched all of Justice League or Justice League unlimited. I’d like to see those before this. I don’t want to buy them on DVD and with the recent blu ray release of JL season 1 I figured they would be releasing more by now but I guess not. :(

  16. Marvel, you need to rev up your animated movies because DC’s leaving you way behind. That trailer looks fantastic!

  17. That Hulk trailer looks FREAKING AWESOME!!!!

  18. @ Dr. SamBeckett
Maybe they could have Kevin Conroy dub dialogue for the next guy to play Batman cause i doubt they’d start that now when Bale already made two films and more left by contract. Not sure other fans would like the idea.

    @ ORI
With JL/JLU animated series over. I always thought it would be great to take the best comics and have them excist in the same universe. They could of covered Death and Return of Superman more in the right way or of-course the idea of using the Crime Syndicates. They shouldnt worry about blood being seen cause i remember both Superman & Batman Bleeding at one point in their animated series. Even GL told one of the hawkmen to kiss his ass on JL: star-crossed 3 part episode. Bruce Timm has talked about it before and i still hope he has thought about goin back to the Superman: TAS and make one or two more season that continue from ( Legacy 1&2)
that sees Superman gaining back the trust of the people. And have Tim Daly or even George Newborn voice Superman. I thought George Newborn was just as good as Tim Daly, it was the way in which he talked as Superman and Andrea Romano thought the sameway. The only thing between the two was when Superman got angry, Tim Daly’s voice was better when Superman got ticked off.

  19. @ SamBeckett
I meant to say one more film by contract.

  20. While Marvel has the theatrical releases locked down, I have to say that DC’s approach is fantastic. Releasing one after another, probably pretty inexpensive to produce. I really wish they would get the voice-actors from the series though

    keep ’em comin

  21. @SIN187UM – Planet Hulk looks okay, but it in no way looks as good as any of the DC animations to date.

@sambeckett – I’m glad Conroy isn’t doing the voice, that’s not to say I don’t love when he voices Batman I just would like to get another actor’s take on him.

To be honest I think that DC is destroying Marvel creatively in every aspect except film (at least not yet). Marvel is doing a bang up job with their movies and DC has a long way to go. You can cry Dark Knight all you want, but true comic fans know that movie was good, but not nearly as good as it was made out to be…Iron Man is the best Super Hero comic movie to date.

  22. I think the reason that public enemies was amazing is because it literally was perfect for the fans. The writing was amazing, it focused mainly on batman/superman, the fight scenes showed those two going all out to stay alive, and above all they used tim daly and kevin conroy to portay superman and batman. I am one of those fans that thinks that Conroy should always voice batman and Daly should always voice superman.

  23. Everyone knows that the dark knight was a much better film than Iron Man. That includes both “true comic fans” and fans of good cinema alike. Iron man was a very fun pop corn flick. There really wasn't a whole lot of layers to it. The dark knight had a much more interesting and emotional plotline. Iron man was good, but everyone forgot about it once the Dark Knight came to theaters.

  24. No Tim Daly and no Conroy means no buy to me.CC

  25. I've watched it and I've gotta say that you'll be missing out, it was awesome. I also love both Tim Daly and Kevin Conroy, and I think they would've been superior choices, but it was still an enjoyable watch. If you don't buy it at least rent it or get it off netflix or whatever, it's worth a watch.
