There are, as any film geek worth their salt knows by now, several big franchise movies arriving in 2015 - and now that an increasing number of them have wrapped production (or will in the near future), that means we should get to see some actual footage from them, sooner than later. Certain films that had a presence at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con have already gotten a head-start in that department - like next year's Mad Max: Fury Road (watch the trailer, if you haven't already... or watch it again, if you like).

Director Josh Trank finished shooting his Fantastic Four reboot a couple days ago, which the film's stars announced via a group photo on Twittter; today, Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow likewise confirmed on Twitter than he's done with principal photography on his Jurassic Park movie. The film picks up in real-time after the first Jurassic Park installment and revolves around an up and running dino amusement park, as run by humans played by the likes of Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard.

Pratt can currently be seen on the big screen playing the "not 100% a d**k" Peter Quill/Star-Lord in Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy. Trevorrow posted a new image of Pratt in Jurassic World to his Twitter account, in coordination with that space adventure film hitting theaters. Said image was accompanied by the caption "See you next summer, Star-Lord," and you can check out the pic, below. (And if you haven't seen it already, here's a video from 2010 where Pratt "predicts" that he will one day star in Jurassic Park 4.)

Then, earlier today, Trevorrow posted the following image announcing the end of production on Jurassic World, with the simple caption "Wrap."

It shall be a while still until we get to see footage of fully-rended CGI dinosaurs in Trevorrow's new film, though at least some of the dinos are being brought to life via a combination of practical and digital effects - something the director has teased in the past, with a photo depicting the shadowy outline of a non-CGI dino from the Jurassic World production.

Such recent movies as Pacific Rim and Godzilla have raised the bar for giant monster effects, but Trevorrow's flick could stand apart from them by instead offering smaller, yet equally convincing scaly beasts (if not more convincing). Jurassic World was shot by Oscar-nominated cinematographer John Schwartzman (see the image above), whose blockbuster credits include early Michael Bay offerings (The Rock, Armageddon) as well as more recent titles like The Amazing Spider-Man and this fall's Dracula Untold. That is to say, Jurassic World looks to be in pretty good hands, as far as its visual template is concerned.

Meanwhile, such 2015 tentpoles as Terminator (2015) should also wrap up their own productions relatively soon (costar Dayo Okeniyi finished shooting his scenes recently). It's safe to assume a teaser for that sci-fi blockbuster will be released before the year is done, along with other previews for hotly-anticipated 2015 titles (like the Crimson Peak teaser that premiered at Comic-Con) - a list that for sure includes Jurassic World.
