I was actually hoping for a 4th film. Yeah, the 3rd one was ok, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The whole Godzilla ending felt forced, but the time on the island was great. I can't think of ANY reason why a competent screenwriter can't come up with a good story for the 4th and FINAL Jurassic Park.

They should have stop at the first on since they captured 'Lightning in a Bottle' there.

Let's leave it alone now, for the memory of MC at least...

Jurassic Park - One of the best films ever.

JP2 - uh ok

JP3 - what?

JP4 - why?

It's always funny when the special effects in the sequels are nothing close to the quality of the original. I doubt JP4 would break the trend.

I think the first movie was one of the best films I have ever seen in a theater..I had just finished reading Crichton's book and I remember the anticipation for this movie was as big as The Dark KNight without the internet buzz of course...I really can't think of a world without the internet now..it has become so ingrained in our every day lives.. Do the fourth but get a great script first to do it justice.

I actually rooted for the dinosaurs in the 2nd one; I just thought it was not a good sequel. The 3rd one was OK; the first fantastic.

I agree with what you all are saying: they should do the 4th installment to honor Winston and Crichton.

I kinda figured it was dying when Stan died--his guys created the dinos, and the look, and I believe ILM had a hand in the design, but it was mostly Stan's team.

The first film was definitely the greatest in the trilogy, and I believe it is also one of the greatest movies of it's era. While being one of the frontier movies to correctly use CGI, Jurassic Park has yet to be surpassed in graphic prowess.

I'd also have to disagree with you (Gary, and Heath) I found JP2 to be a far greater movie than the third. While the second movie was slower, it had far better story and characters. One of the prominent reasons I believe that the third movie did not meet the same quality as its predicesors was the undeniable fact that Steven Spielberg did not direct it. It was directed instead by Joe Johnson, (among the films he has directed, Jumanji, Hidalgo, and Jurassic Park 3) and I will admit I liked some of the movies Johnson directed, but it gave JP3 a kind of 'cutesy' feeling that didn't belong in the trilogy.

Now that I've given this long-winded monologue about Jurassic Park's movies passed, I'd have to agree with Metallicat79 about JP4. After seeing what they did with Indiana Jones, I'm more than a little cautious about how the fourth installment of Jurassic Park would turn out.

I am somewhat mixed on this, Part me says Thank God for that, another series that seems to have been beaten within an inch of its life. The other part of me is somewhat dissapointed, and I really wanted to see dinosaurs running wild, and i am totally with who ever said make it a tribute to Stan Winston and Michael Crichton.

While I love John Sayles' work, esp. Lone Star, I wasn't too fond of the story I heard he was working on with the other writer... modified, smaller dinos that had weapons on them. YEAHHHH...

I was actually looking forward to a new Jurassic Park, especially after JP3. You would think they would still do it in his honor espically after he just passed away, but who knows maybe this will change but I doubt it.

When Stan Winston sadly died earlier this year I knew that it was the end of an era.
I think this is the first film to be effected by his Death.
There will be many more. Like Jim Henson...that man was a genius and unreplaceable.

I loved the original, one of my top favorite films of all time. Part 2 was meh (who knew a dual T-Rex attack could be so boring and repetitive?

But I will admit that I liked Jurassic Park 3. That Spinosaur scared me, and I think it was because they really didn't hold back and director Joe Johnston was unleashed. Sure the ending was a non-ending, but it was a crazy film. Guilty pleasure all the way for me.
