After beginning his rise to stardom with wrestling, Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has made the transition to acting. While his early ventures left much to be desired, he has found his niche as a mega action star with great comedic timing. Whether it has been his involvement in Fast Five and beyond, disaster flicks like San Andreas, lending his voice to Moana, moving to TV with Ballers, or looking to jump into the superhero game with Black Adam, he continues to stay extremely busy.

2017 alone could bolster his resume with a larger role in The Fate of the Furious and taking on another comedic project with a remake of Baywatch - though The Rock will also help bring back a classic Robin Williams movie franchise. Jumanji is said to not be a reboot but more so a continuation of the Williams-headlined 1995 film of the same name, though it will also boast a brand new twist and cast. There has been a fair amount of skepticism surrounding the project since it was announced, but the first trailer could go a long way in making people more excited.

Johnson announced on Instagram that the first trailer for Jumanji has just been screened to those involved creatively (see below), but also revealed that the trailer will make its debut at CinemaCon 2017. The convention will be held at the end of the month - March 27th through 30th to be exact - so the trailer will debut then. It is unclear whether or not this could be a CinemaCon exclusive, but with this announcement it seems likely that the trailer should drop online rather quickly after it debuts.

LUV this part of my job... galvanizing a boardroom full of hungry, brilliant creative people who have a singular focus and goal: deliver an awesome movie for the world to enjoy. Of course I had to ruin the pic by giving ✌?to my director, Jake Kasdan. What an asshole I am. Outstanding global marketing kick off meeting with our SONY partners for the release of JUMANJI this Christmas. We just previewed our exclusive trailer that we'll debut for our CinemaCon crowd (theater CEO's, exhibitors and press) and it KILLS. Hilarious, massive action and a lot of big ol' heart. The whole cast is hilarious and looks great - Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Nick Jonas and the BIG man himself, Kevin Hart. THANK YOU to our SONY partners for your enthusiasm, strategy and brilliance for our movie. We're just getting started. ✌?ears for everyone. What a TEAM. #GlobalMarketingMeeting #SONY #SevenBucksProds #GarciaCompanies #JUMANJI THIS CHRISTMAS ?? A post shared by therock (@therock) on

Even if the trailer does not become available online right after CinemaCon, fans should not have to wait long to see it. With Johnson's next project, The Fate of the Furious, being released only a few weeks after CinemaCon, attaching a trailer for Jumanji would make sense. After all, this take on Jumanji should be more action-heavy than the first movie, meaning it ought to have a similar target demographic as Fate of the Furious.

The Rock will not be alone in this trailer however, as his character Dr. Smolder Bravestone will be joined by Ruby Roundhouse (Karen Gillan), Moose Finbar (Kevin Hart), and Professor Shelly Oberon (Jack Black) within the world of Jumanji. This time, it appears the film is set in a Jumanji video game instead of a board game, as it was before. There is a lot of love and nostalgia attached to Jumanji as a property, making this somewhat of a risky endeavor. Still, given The Rock's presence and what he says is a great trailer coming, there is reason to believe this may yet prove to be one of the rare good franchise revivals.
