It wasn’t terrible, just forgettable. Definitely have to see it in 3D though.

Well for movies like this I review them from the point of view of whether they’ll be enjoyable to the target audience, and I was pretty clear on that.

It wasn’t terrible, just forgettable. Definitely have to see it in 3D though.

Seems a bit generous, but I can understand giving credit to the visuals and the appeal to kids. I’m just sick of all the half-baked Jules Verne “adaptations” – can’t someone just do it straight, and do it right? I’d kill to see a good Around the World in 80 Days without that damn hot air balloon people keep throwing in.

That’s cool Vic,
I guess I just don’t like being dragged thru the 3D research and development timeline.
I’ve heard from studio scum that 3D is the next big thing no matter what.
Supposedly there’s going to be over 25 films next year that will be in 3D. And they are ultimatly developing 3D technology that eliminates the glasses. They are working on a transparent screen cover that will enable 3D on Digital tvs.

There’s no way to stop it unless ppl don’t support these films and shows.

Actually I guess that was a bad word choice – as it’s used HERE it’s a gimmick, but I actually really enjoy movies in 3D when they DON’T emphasize it.

Of course in that case filmmakers may not bother to use it, but it gives me more of a feeling of being in the movie or watching something “real” than just a 2D representation.

Nice to see Vic that you consider 3D a gimmick. I can’t stand it myself and loathe its place in cinema.

Is Brendon Fraser stereotyped as Brendon Fraser or what?
While seeing the Mummy 3 trailer today for the first half I couldn’t tell if it was a preview for JTTCOTE or M3.

He’s the same guy and his character in M3 has a son that looks like his younger brother. W?
