As part of that deal, Whedon will also be developing a live-action television series for ABC that will fit within the shared universe the films do. What that is we don't yet know, but we can safely say it's something he wanted as part of the agreement.
Let's examine some of the commonly suggested and rumored properties that Marvel Studios can potentially develop for television on ABC with the help of Whedon. Items listed must qualify under a few conditions, namely that Marvel Studios actually owns the rights to the character(s) and that said property fits within the Marvel cinematic universe.
Actually Marvel owns the television rights to all their characters. It’s only the film rights they don’t so for all intents and purposes the show could have Spider-man or the X-Men in it, I mean they probably won’t so non-comic fans don’t get mixed up between the films and tv but the option is there.
I’d bet money that it’s based on “Hero” by Perry Moore. Stan Lee has had plans to make it a TV show for a while now, and Joss is absolutely the most perfect choice for it, considering his history with superpowered LGBT characters.
To be realistic, Runaways and S.H.E.I.L.D would probably be good ideas for TV series. While I do wish Runways would be a movie (and it probably will, we’ll see) a TV show might be better first, becasue trying to sum up from kid’s back stories to defeating the Pride couldn’t possibly be fit into a two hour movie. I’d rather that they didn’t put either show on ABC because they’re always canceling new shows. I’d rather runways be on CW or something.

Personally, it would be awesome if they made a Marvel Zombies miniseries. I would be fine with a Punisher series too.
