I feel that it is pretty clear that Fox was very responsible with the first half of the first season. I am surprised to see people blaming Joss Whedon over Fox… Maybe it’s more fun to skewer a sacred cow? But after what happened with Wonderfalls, Firefly, and other Fox shows, and recent reports coming up about Fox’s involvement in Dollhouse, I can pretty confidently cool that Fox was involved in the early episodes of Dollhouse are is responsible for some of the shallowness and squicky sex stuff in them. Joss Whedon is no perfect, but no one can say that he is bad or just average. The proof is in the DVDs – try watching “The Body” or “Once More With Feeling” and say he is not incredibly talented and hard-working. It’s impossible!

I really wish they wouldn’t do it!
For two reasons:
1. it’s a little bit early for a Buffy reboot
2. I don’t need another Kuzui-Buffy, the last one left me with an emotional trauma, thank you very much!

That and with the Caps lock, some consider it rude online etiquette. (Like I should talk!)

Additionally, when everything is in caps, it’s hard to EMPHASIZE a point you might want to make.

Yea Gunsmith I mean I get rebooting things that sucked. Batman and Robin was horrible and you couldn’t continue after that movie it needed a reboot. Rebooting the Fantastic Four isn’t a bad idea either, but a highly successful TV show that spawned another successful TV show spinoff and that still has very rabid fans? Does that really need a reboot?

Die Hard Reboot anyone? Die Hard Reboot and who can be John hmm Oh I know lets give it to Shia La Buff. Perfect fit. /end sarcasm

In order for me to even consider seeing the new “Buffy” movie, it would have to be out-of-this world, revamped, like the current “Star Trek” revival. And, to tell the truth, we already got that with Buffy.

It already had its second chance after the disaster of the movie with a brilliant television series that lasted seven years.

Leave it alone! Or wait 20 years. you might not upset as many still committed fans then.

Whedon is indeed overrated but Buffy is his baby and as we see when comparing the lame movie (helmed by someone other than Whedon) to the very cool tv series (with Whedon in full creative control) Whedon is the best bet for making a new movie work. Without Whedon i wont bother to watch it.

Actually Tasouli they shouldn’t move forward with it and it won’t make a lot of money if they do. The core fans won’t accept it because the actual fans see no reason for a reboot. The concept of Buffy it’s self isn’t actually very good in fact it’s kind of lame what made the show Buff and Angel so great was the writing, the characters and the actors that played them. So this movie will take away the writers who made the show great, the characters that made the show great and the actors that made the show great. Lets face it show of hands who can honestly say Buffy was their fave character? I mean honestly.

They need to relax on the Buffy Reboot…the show just ended like 6-7 years ago and it is still playing on tv. Give it some time. I also dont think that Whedon shoudl be attached to it as well. He was teh crator of the original tv show and we should leave his ideas and thoughts with that world that he created. Now we need to get another perspective.
When all is said and done, they probably will move forward with a Buffy movie because it will make money…if they do it right who knows it might just be a success

vladmax: A lot of people have your sentiments.

At one website they held a voting contest on saving shows for next year. Sarah Connor beat them all, including Chuck. In fact:

“After 300,000 votes, “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles” led the pack with 53% of the vote.”

NBC’s “Chuck” had 25%, “Dollhouse” -10%, “Life” – 8% and “Privileged” another 4%.”

It really is odd, and it’s not. Fox more than likely is shell shocked in how the FOXXED over Whedon with Firefly.

Even though they tried it again by messing up the order of the episodes with DOLLHOUSE, it still seemed to capture the minds of the fans in the 2nd half of the season – ONCE FOX STOPPED MUCKING with the end result.

So you are not alone vladmax.

Please, don’t get me wrong. I love Joss and everything he does. Sarah Conner was a better show and fox (in their unfathomable wisdom) killed it. Dollhouse should have gotten the axe.
