Brolin was robbed an Oscar nod and win for No Country! It must have irked him when Javier got the win for basically portraying a robot with a silly haircut.

Daniel F says:

I’m a fan of Jonah Hex, but I find my self worried about this film. I mean the director is an odd choice and I don’t know if he can pull of this film he’s never done anything like it. The writers have only worked on Cartoons and I’m sorry, but Brolin has been hit or miss. No country was a good movie and he did good in it, but W was an awful film and his performance was actually not very good at all.

Iron Patriot says:

It looks pretty lame, especially around the mouth. Maybe they’ll ugly it up a bit with CGI, like Two-Face in The Dark Knight.

Doom3524 says:

Yeah, I really hope they CGI him up a little bit. He looks mildly disfigured there, but nothing too bad. His eye needs to be messed up along with the mouth, and the mouth needs to be worse. Just my opinion.

Phil G says:

What’s the hang up with making him uglier than ugly, anyway? I know Jonah Hex is pretty gruesome-looking in the comics, but I want to be able to watch a movie without grimacing too much.

I mean, Two-Face WAS pretty damn horrendous to look at in Batman, but at least he was a villain with a few scenes and they had him in the dark often.

Daniel F says:

Because Phil a lot of what Hex is revovles around how he looks and really he doesn’t look bad at all here. He looks like he has a minor deformity. A big part of Hex is to see beyond the horribly hideous deformity and see what and who he really is. It’s actually very very important to the story that he be very ugly. Not look like Two Face, but still Ugly. currently it’s nothing. To be honest it ruins the entire point of the character to not have the scars look all that bad.
