[...] Gamer is a project we haven’t covered on Screen Rant thus far, but this early piece of marketing for it has spawned that coverage on our part. Originally titled Game, then Citizen Game, and now Gamer, the film is a unique idea from Mark Neveldine and Brian Taylor. The filmmaking duo are known for bringing us the two Crank movies, Pathology, and who writing the upcoming comic-book adaptation Jonah Hex (they were also previous attached to direct that, but dropped out due to creative differences). Thanks for the insight, bud. It's much appreciated.

You never know... look at the job Jon Favreau did with Iron Man!

I've known Jimmy for years, and don't let the kiddie animation fool you. He's been working his way up to direct a western in the tradition of the 70's Auteur period for years. Think Sam Peckinpah, Sergio Leone, John Boorman and Toby Hooper. That's the direction Jimmy will be going. Just keep the producers, test audiences and PG-13 rating out of his way - and he will deliver an amazing, compelling Jonah Hex.

Yeah, I saw the trailer and I couldn't believe it - vilest crap I've seen in a LONG time. Seriously.

Wow, we differ on that one, Vic. Like the first film I think the red band trailer for the sequel looks kick-ass.

While I enjoyed Crank as a fun romp, the unrated trailer for Crank 2 is heinous - I have NO desire to see it.

Getting rid of anyone involved in that awful movie "Crank" can only be a good thing IMO.

Also remember actors don't have the clout that directors do. They take what they can get otherwise they are known as "problematic and difficult to work with". Reality is this is going to be pure junk. Can you guys say "Batman Forever?"

Sounds like Warner Bros is taking its intelligence and smarts from Fox. Seems like these guys are looking to camp up everything when it comes to comics. I'm sure W.B. was thinking "Let's bring in the laughs and make it a kids film." It will be butchered...no question about it.
