Since I’m known for my glee in covering all things Iron Man I’ll fill you in on the latest published interview with Jon Favreau. It’s a couple of months old from the timeline mentioned in the interview and he doesn’t divulge much. For the record I think that’s a good thing… if there’s one movie I don’t want to be to spoiled about before watching it this is it, although that makes it awfully difficult to cover here on the site.
Anyway, as far as I’m concerned the most significant bit of info mentioned is that Favs is apparently not shooting for a 90 minute run time, which was feared by many. He states that the length will be:
“Probably between [an hour and 45 minutes and two hours]. I don’t think it should go much longer than two. We have to see how it plays.”

Personally, I’m hoping for closer to two hours. Iron Man will play more like a action/spy film than a comic book movie and therefore could use a bit more screen time IMHO.
He also pretty much confirmed that there will be a new commercial for the film aired during the Superbowl (Tivos at the ready!)
As to whether Hillary Swank and/or Samuel L. Jackson will appear, he was pretty tight lipped and would neither confirm nor deny. Same went for any appearance by the Hulk (which I think is a bogus rumor, BTW). He knows how to handle the online media: If you give the same response to every rumor anything is possible, or nothing at all.
He also said that he does have a very small cameo that could grow into a larger role. If that doesn’t say “Happy Hogan,” I don’t know what does.
Iron Man opens on May 2nd, 2008.

How cool would this film be if at some point the Hulk turns up in a battle scene. (Maybe there’s a scene where Hulk is captured).?? That kind of synergy and secracy would be incredible!!!! And a great ty-in to the new Hulk film.

I’m thinking now I’m going to have to watch the superbowl for the new trailer. Man that sucks I can’t stand football. Maybe there wil be a link to it?
Hope so, I can’t be bothered with that football mess..
^
Also on the time)
I would be most pleased with a film run time of 2 hours 15 min…
If its 2 hours and say 20 min then its just gonna suck for me.
^
And Stark
That would be a cool suprise… maybe for something right around the credits after the film has wound down.
Vic
You have to admit Vic that it would be original and start a trend….
I do believe they’re going to start tying together Marvel movies but I think showing the Hulk would be too much of a giveaway considering the actual Hulk movie will not have been released yet at that point.
Vic
In my dreamworld:
Running a major studio is tough….but Hulks in the Picture!

I sure hope the next trailer shows us some Iron Monger action!!!!!!!!
I’d barely heard of Iron Man before talk of this movie began, which makes me feel a bit left out when people get into deep discussions about the character. But I do think the movie looks very cool, and I love Robert Downey Jr. I’m really hoping they don’t try to make it longer; shorter is almost always better.
Well if they plan on having the actors that play the individuals back to be in the Avengers, then having the Hulk at least referred to would a cool idea I think.
Great news. IMHO, Hulk/Banner has a very good chance of showing up for a few seconds just because Marvel has primary control.
Great news!! I’m SO glad that IM will be at least an hour and forty. 2 hours or slightly over would be AWESOME!! I HATE short superhero movies, especially when they’re ones I’m really enjoying.;-)
From the sounds of it the new preview will be mostly NEW footage!!! I cannot wait!!!
By March, the official hype for the movie will begin!!!! You’ll be walking in stores and finding IM film merchandise everywhere and you’ll see comercials constantly on TV!! Cereal boxes, action figures,T-shirts,posters,I can’t wait!!! WOOT!! WOOT!!
Sorry to bring this up here, but did anyone else here that JLA’s runtime is only……….90 MINUTES?!!!! WTF?!!! A film like that should be AT LEAST 2 HOURS!!!!!!
But if it’s crap (hopefully not) then I won’t care.
Hey Liz, head on over to http://www.advancediron.org for more on the character.
Vic
Vic, a Hulk cameo would be more interesting BECAUSE his movie’s not out.
They’ll probably roll out a Hulk trailer for Iron Man anyway. A quick sighting (even on Tony Stark’s big screen TV news) would be a bit of cross-marketing, and I guarantee the theatre will erupt with woot woots and applause at that scene.
Anyway, your whole website is about teases and sneak peeks. Let’s have one right inside a movie.
FANTASY HULK CAMEO–YOU FINISH THE STORY:
It’s near the close of the movie, or maybe a post-credit sequence. Stark is with a babe by his car when this repetetive impact sound gets nearer at regular intervals.
Shortly after a close impact tremor, a huge green blur arcs down through the edge of the woods, splintering tree trunks. Maybe he lands on a nearby car. He glares at Stark and the woman, maybe the slightest hint of a smile, haunches down and leaps past them. A news helicopter buzzes meekly after the brute.
Fading impacts. Stark, looking in the direction the Hulk went, says a snappy line.
“I thought you weren’t supposed to wear purple after Labor Day.”
***Can you do better? Write your dream cameo scene, or WRITE TONY’S SMARTASS REMARK. ***
Haha, Jim nice one.

I’m not sure on the plot of IM. but I could see a scene where Stark is notified about Hulk and gets a report on video. He’s about to engage and he’s called off at the last minute to do whatever,, I’m sure there’s some cannon reguarding Iron Man and Hulks first meet and greet.
^
Maybe somebody else can answr that better than me.

My smartars comment from Stark, gheeesh I left the 3rd world for this?..
I don’t know that’s kinda lame….
