BTW – Just read on another movie blog a really great idea for a Marvel film; A SHILED moviee with no other then Samuel ‘M.F.’ Jackson.

I think a SHIELD movie would be great and be a lot more easy to pull off then a large collaboration like the Avenegers.

SUGGESTION: Multiple-Directort Collaboration
PROBLEM: If you were to put together a directing team of the best directors for the AVENGERS movie you ufnortunately would not end up with awinning team but more likley an uncomprehensible mess. You’d have too many chefs trying to make the soup and with each having their own twist you end up with something tasting horrific.

SUGGESTION: Single world class director
PROBLEM: No matter who you get including Nolan who has taken Batman to number #1 status in it’s genere and #2 (in terms of Box Office gross) of all Movies, you are still going to end up with something that had a Nolan look or feel and while that did well for Batman, the Avengers is a collection of contradicting characters.

What about Ratner, he did the Hero Group film X-Men? With the X-Men you did have a group but they still had something in common and were not as disparate as the Avengers.

The only way to do something with a large disparate character group like Avenegers (or the same would go for a Justice League movie) is to find a solid director who’s willing to do it right without trying to put his spin on the movie and be willing to collaborate with someone from the comics world (perhaps a few people since no comic is manned by one person) who is a proven AVENGERS story teller and let them guide the director when it comes to story points and character traits. This would be a working director instead of a thinking or artistict director.

It seems “horror” directors seem to be most amplified. not to mention, Richard Donner directing the “omen” or Raimi and Bruce Campbell working on “evil dead” together.

I just got to thinking about the whole Tony Stark showing up at the end of the Incredible Hulk movie. Tony Stark walks up to General Ross and says THEY are putting a team together, but in the leaked trailer of Iron Man 2, Nick Fury is chasing Tony around trying to talk him into joining the Avengers. I think the Hulk movie is going to be after the whole IM2 and Thor movie, and then right before The Avenger movie if put down on a Time Line.

Favs said himself he doesn’t know how to incorporate the supernatural into movies so I don’t think we’ll be seeing Thor in IM2 even though that would be a cool scene.

I think if they could do a collaboration that would be awesome for a super hero team up movie, but on the flip side trying to make things work for all directors visions would be tough. If they could do it, I could see Avengers just being AWESOME. I hope what ever they do they do bring on all the directors to have input in the movie.

I think there will definately be a cameo of some sort from a major marvel character in Iron Man 2…im guessing Thor or Cap and dont cross out the Hulk either. They are trying to keep everything under the raps. I still dont think an Avengers movie will work and I think that everything will blwo up in their faces. But I hope I am wrong

I agree. Though, if they can’t get Hulk in there, then I would be satisfied with some mention of Banner in the dialogue. Maybe in conversation with Nick Fury about Banner still being on the run and how he is unstable and a potential security risk.

Also, I think it is hard to have a Hulk cameo when you don’t have Norton under contract to return for another Hulk movie or Avengers yet.

I think Favs has the unfortunate task of making Iron Man 2 a stand-alone story that is great by itself but also as a lead-in movie to a 3rd film featuring the character that costars two characters whose films haven’t been made yet and a story that hasn’t been written yet.

not having hulk make a cameo in ironman 2 is a big mistake. there has to be another marvel character making a cameo.
