Voice of Reason says:

I want to know if he’s the next joker…

Steve says:

He wouldn’t be the joker. The joker is dead as a character as no one could replace him. Riddler would be good though as he has said he is open to.

I am excited for the Rum Diaries since Fear and Loathing was brilliant and it is a great book. I am also beyond excited for Alice. Anything he does is brilliant, but those are the two I am most looking forward to.

Depp has a lot on the horizon and, for the most part, it all looks pretty good. I as well did not like (check that HATED) Pirates 2 and 3 but the first was good. If they can drift away from the whole romance going on with bloom and knightly- which i think they are doing- and make it solely about sparrow and barbosa it might turn out to be pretty exciting. Alice in Wonderland also looks like it is coming along great and I like teh approach they are having with this film. Public enemies shoudl be very entertaining as well and I am looking forward to it but I dont think that it will be as much of a box office success as his upcoming films

Nobidy is going to to top Ledger as the Joker yattty yatta…ok i understand the guy did a marvelous job but I think that if anyone else can continue teh kojer chracter it is Depp… I think they shoudl do it as a tribute to Ledger and a tribute to the franchise. Depp would NOt be trying to top ledger but simply finish a very well created character. We know he could play in the insane character (SParrow) so why not? People need to hop OFF Ledger, yea the guy did a great job and he died and i am glad he won all those awards and he deserved them, but seriously he is NOT the only one out there that could play teh charcter

Voice of Reason says:

@Steve
how is the joker dead as a character? They can easily bring him back into the mix and they will. Maybe just not with the next movie.

Steve says:

With what Nolan said about how hard ledger’s death rocked him I guess I assumed the character is dead. Depp is open to the riddler and personally I think that would be a better choice for him.

YautjaSlayer says:

and now depps willy wonka looks like a perfectly normal person….

Foopher says:

Isn’t J-Dawg (Johnny Depp) gonna be the Riddler? I heard that somewhere.

Foopher says:

I love johnny depp. i have enjoyed every one of his performances. but to be honest, i don’t think he could’ve done the joker the way that heath ledger did. Don’t get me wrong j-dawg is my #1 favorite actor of all time. i do think he’d make an amazing riddler though.

Foopher says:

also… Oh My God. that picture of him as the mad hatter is seriously creepy. i love it

Gary says:

I REALLY want to see that Dark Shadows film .
I hope it happens.
almolst as passionately as I hope POTC 4 NEVER sees the light of day.

Cutlass Colli says:

I have been a fan of Johnny Depp’s since Nightmare On Elm Street. He has always drawn me into a film, not just by his good looks but because of how he brings his characters to life before my eyes. He is a brillant man, whom I respect, and I look forward to seeing all of his films.

790 says:

I hope this film doesn’t ruin Depps career.

Depp or Carrot Top?

Foopher says:

i doubt it could ruin his career. if nobody wants him after this, tim burton will still have him on his little boat of horrors so it’s all good. just look at any other movie he’s done and you’ll see why his career won’t end any time soon.

I cant see Depp as either Joker or Riddler – his acting style is way too understated for such hyper maniacs.

As for Hatter, he looks ludicrous, i was hoping for something darker from Burton – rather like the comics “Beyond Wonderland”, now that i would love to see.

Foopher says:

The Riddler is the most insane of the batman villians. Johnny Depp is perfect for that.

As for Alice in Wonderland, i think it will be dark, creepy, and all that other good stuff that tim burton always delivers

dragonmum says:

Ledger may have been a good Joker, but Cesar Romero stole the show, and nobody, but nobody, does the voice like Mark Hamill. And I’ve been a Depp fan since 21 Jump Street… just how old does that make me? lol He would make a good Riddler, though. Personally, I think Secret Window was some of the best acting he’s done. He needs to stay away from any more Pirates, but I’m looking forward to Public Enemies and the Rum Diaries.

Foopher says:

Secret Window was pretty great. (One of my favorites).

@ Michael Claymore

Had a bit of a laugh when I read this:

‘I cant see Depp as either Joker or Riddler – his acting style is way too understated for such hyper maniacs’.

Jack Sparrow is ‘understated’? LOL!

Foopher says:

jack sparrow, willy wonka, ed wood, Raoul Duke… all those characters were just crazy balls of “WOOOOO” in a person.

-jon ^_^ says:

I really want to see him back with Gilliam to reattempt The Man Who Killed Don Quixote.

Noelle says:

I have been an avid Tim Burton fan for years, and also a Johnny Depp fan. I cannot wait for this movie to be released! I will go see any Tim Burton or Johnny Depp film, whether good or not! Btw, I didn’t like that review. They made the movie sound boring, which we all know it won’t be!!!

Kim says:

Depp and Burton or Burton and Depp….One word…..LEGENDARY.
