A diligent photographer has snapped Depp as Dillinger driving a car on the set of Public Enemies. The crime thriller is being directed by cinematic god Michael Mann, the cast also includes recent Oscar winner Marion Cotillard, Giovanni Ribisi, Stephen Dorff and Christian Bale as Melvin Purvis the man trying to bring Dillinger down.
Apart from Depp, there’s a of picture of hoods hanging on to the side of a car carrying Tommy guns, in true gangster style.
Now does that not get your pulse racing, even a tiny bit?

I’ll admit that Depp just looks like Depp, but at least he doesn’t look like Jack Sparrow. Now that the Pirates of The Caribbean franchise has sailed its course, we can once again see Depp as a first rate actor, and not a Disney character.
Mann is pure cinematic gold. We’re talking Heat, Manhunter, Last of The Mohicans, Collateral and Miami Vice (the film and the series). However, if you want to know why I’m so excited about Public Enemies, check out his 1980’s show Crime Story. This 1960’s set Las Vegas based series is oustanding. Starring Dennis Farina as a cop trying to take down organized crime in Sin City. I know that I’m telling you to watch a lot of old television these days, but trust me!
As Public Enemies progresses I’ll keep you posted on it’s development.

OMg thank you so much for comming to darlingtion WI to shoot a part of the movie public enimies , that is the biggest thing that has happened to this town.all of us thank you for shaking our hands that was rad,i was the kid with the brown and white hat with the crazy brown strands comming form the top next to the little girls,i hope you never forget us.and we hope u will come visit again someday, if your not bussy. im a huge fan.the girls went crazy over you lol.We will never forget this memory and cherish it forever,if its not to much to ask your a bussy man,if you could keep in touch , but if you dont we understand.

This looks cool. Micheal Mann kinda blew it with Miami Vice but he’s good with the period pieces. (Crime Story)!!!
Depp is a totally cool guy….and allways fun to watch. He seems to get younger by the film.

Is underated and should do more Screen Rant films. He was awesome in Blade.
The rest of the cast looks great.

The only difference between Bale and Samuel L. Jackson is that Bale is picking better scripts. Those 2 guys are work-a-holics. LOL
Miami Vice was boring beyond measure but the other films were top notch. I’m looking forward to seeing Public Enemies.
I live in crown point, in. were they are getting redy to film. it is a very small, everyone knows everyone kinda town. I find it uppsetting that they are blocking everything off so know one c even see him. they are bringing all this stuff in our town, but we are the outsiders. I understand he is a “star” but come on.They could at least let us see, or use our children as extras.

You would be surprised how some stars don’t even want to be looked in the eye on set.

Im a little upset. We watched for Johnny Depp and sat outside for 20-30 hours at a time in 40 degree weather just for the slim chance we would see him at little bohemia and we did not see so much as a hand wave from a vehicle. I used to love Johnny Depp and I understand hes a busy person but I think he could of at least waved to us.
