Jericho 7 Episode Ping Pong Continues

jericho Jericho 7 Episode Ping Pong ContinuesThe “will they wrap the story at seven episodes or not” debate regarding Jericho‘s return is starting to give me a headache.

Considering the outcry from fans over ending the first season with a cliffhanger and then having the show cancelled, when the show was given a seven episode reprieve the word was that the writers would script the story as an arc that would conclude at the end of the seventh episode. The idea was that the ratings might not be strong enough to sustain the show beyond this, and it would be pretty stupid to aggravate the fans with yet another unresolved cliffhanger.

Now the latest word from from actor Lennie James (who plays the mysterious Robert Hawkins on the show) is that:

“Right now, we do not have a plan to wrap it up at the end of episode seven.”

No disrespect to the man, but he is after all, just an actor on the show and not a producer or writer. Personally I really hope that they write the show to have some sort of closure by episode seven while still leaving the door open for the series to continue on if the ratings are there to justify that.

  1. they shouldnt asssume it wilgo beyond seven
give the fans a wrap up I Think they deserve it

  2. Yup, that’s what I think. It would stink to leave the fans hanging. Again!

Something tells me the ratings just won’t be there to support it beyond the seven episodes, but I could be wrong…

  3. It is my understanding that they have filmed to finales to Season 2. One will air if CBS picks the show back up for more episodes and the other provides closure if they don’t. It is also my understanding (based on things that I’ve read) that the producers are going to shop around for a new home for Jericho (and have already started doing this) should CBS cancel it again.

  4. Sorry, I meant two finales

  5. Thanks, Yvonne. Have you heard anything regarding when the new season will start?
