i agree on keeping the mask and original costume for hawkeye but it can be updated for the movies.

i think that you couldnt pick a better person to play hawkeye it would just be plain stupid for marvel to mess this up and let renner get away idk about anyone else but im stoked about this news and think a cameo for him in iron man 2 is a must

The way he described the Ultimate Hawkeye costume sounded cool but when I saw the picture I was turned off. That just looks like a regular guy. They could mix it with the original costume or just go with the original all together, but the vest and sunglasses looks lame. All the other heroes will be running around with cool costumes and masks and what is he gonna do? Put on his sunglasses and slip on his vest? That’s boring! The original purple outfit is the best way to go!

Ultimate Hawkeye is made for a movie version. The entire “Ultimates” (Avengers) book is a script/storyboard for a movie.

As much as I love the traditional costume, it just wouldn’t translate to the big screen very well. A semblence of the Ultimate costume would work. Mostly black, but it does need to have some highlights of dark purple on it. Nothing over the top, just some of the color he’s known for here and there.

While I dislike Marvel’s Ultimates and wish it would go away, what works for the film adaptations works for the film adaptations. I think some of Hawkeye’s traditional costume will be retained, but I agree on that some of it also has to be ditched.

Amen, Adrian. I’m glad they’re ditching that stupid costume. The moment that thing would appear on screen, you’d be hearing comparisons to Batman & Robin. Diehard comic fans need to remember that they are not the sole audience for these kinds of movies. There is a substantially larger number of people who would not be attracted to a movie with a man wearing a ridiculous purple costume with an even more ridiculous mask.

I’m not to sure about this decision. I like Hawkeye personally… but I question whether they would put two non-super powered super heroes in their movie.

Thank god! Love the Ultimate Hawkeye and more in the character range of Renner. Such a more believable special forces type of hero for a movie still Avengers.

Yeah I totally agree with all of you guys..I like the Purple Masked Costume better..Just leave the costume the way it is..Dont Monderize it etc..That Ultimate Hawkeye costume looks cheap..he already has an awsome costume already dont change it Marvel. Leave the Costume the way it is with the purple mask Etc..

Is that shot from that EOD movie he was in? I didn’t notice the flag in the movie, but it’s backwards… Army has the American flag on the right shoulder but the “union” (the blue part with the stars) is supposed to be on the top right of the flag, not on the top left like the flag usually is… Basically, the patch is a reversed flag. The best explanation of why that is the case is that it’s supposed to be like a real flag on a staff, as you walk forward carrying the flag, it waves backward. So it’s supposed to signify that the Army is always moving forward…

Anyway, sorry, I know that has nothing to do with the topic of this article, lol.
