Jeff Bridges playing Obadiah Stane

Ok, so Jeff Bridges won’t be playing Happy Hogan or even Sal Kennedy (thanks goodness!) but a character from the Layton/Michelinie era: Obadiah Stane! From reports he’s sporting a shaved head and a silver/grey goatee.

Will we be seeing the Iron Monger armor? That’s the armor that Stane built from stolen Stark Technology when he took over the company. I certainly hope so, as that would give us an armored villain for Iron Man to go up against and would most likely mean that they’re not pursuing the “Tony Stark vs. his father” storyline.

  1. Oh, yes. This sounds fantastic. I bet tehy’ll have him acting shady in the first film so they can make him the primary villain in the sequel. Perhaps we’ll even get a good cliffhanger with Stane taking over the company right at the end of the first movie.

This news has me very excited.

  2. Good point, they do say that he play’s Stark’s mentor so it would be quite a turnaround within one film. Still, it could certainly be done.

  3. Vic, what the heck would we do without you??

  4. Thanks, Smitty but I think you’re giving me WAY too much credit. :-)

  5. I very rarely look anywhere else for my movie info anymore….you have kept me more informed in the last 2 to 3 months, without me even having to try, than I have been in the last couple of years. I am a movie fanatic, especially along the lines of movie you review. You deserve the credit, just keep it up, we are out there.

  6. I appreciate the kind words. I probably don’t post nearly as often as I should, but I try not to just copy what everyone else is talking about out there. I’m a bit more picky about what I put on my blog. :-)

    Best,

    Vic
