This is the best Van Damme movie, period. Who would've thought VD could act and act well? Although, I think the subject of the film (being so personal) and it being in French (his native tongue) probably helped VD in delivering the great performance he had. That said, if only VD had better material to work with all this time maybe he wouldn't of had to make a movie like JCVD. Great movie nonetheless. One of my favorites so far from this year.

Thanks for the review Kofi. I've got to say i'm pretty excited about this film. I, like thousands of other men grew up in the 80's loving VD's films for the pure machismo and whoa factor of his films. After a while, i lost interest in them when he started releasing the straight to video stuff, but this obviously is a very different film. It'll be nice to see VD back in an exciting role after so many years of trash.

BTW, is this in limited release or is there a worldwide release date for it yet?

You lost me when you said it was similar in style to Pulp Fiction. Man, did I DESPISE that movie! As much as I like JC's movies, this one I will pass on.

Jean-Claude Van Damme has been always a great actor not only a great action hero or martial artist! I don't know why haven't the critics notice that before?

Looking forward to it as well, although it will probably have to be a rental for me.

I really can't wait to see this, I've been hearing about it for months. I've always liked 'breaking the 4th wall' type of stuff :)

Besides the fact that I heard it was a great film via AICN and other sites.
