Wait, are they still romancing the idea of a younger hipper Jack Ryan (just the thought of Sum of All Fears makes me cringe)?? Come on, there’s a reason why Harrison Ford is considered the best portrayal of Jack Ryan, it’s because he fits the demographic. Get with it you dumb movie producers!

They should make a true sequel and bring the team back together. That means Phillip Noyce, Harrison Ford, Willem Dafoe, and Anne Archer. Won’t that be something… Or better yet, make a prequel so they can bring James Earl Jones back to life as well!

I think everyone is missing the point of this movie. Jack Ryan is not a young sexy guy. He is suppose to be older, wiser. He acts out of self preservation, protecting his family, and an old obligation to serve his country. Baldwin was great because he was suppose to be new to the CIA thing. Ford was great because he was a bit older but could still get up and throw down. Affleck (who I love) was wrong for the roll because he was acting like a newbie again. The roll calls for an older, wiser person, less shoot em up and more insiteful planning

They should stick with Ben Affleck.He’s not Harrison Ford,but I thought he was good in Sum Of All Fears.

Interesting point on young stars. It is tough to think of one with real presence and charisma, but then the studios do seem to like picking up hollow pretty boys off the production line.
So often now see someone from some young hit tv show getting into the lineup, whether they are right for it or not.

In the novels ,Ryan has a grown son
who is a covert agent fighting against terrorists .
You could anchor the films with either Ford or Baldwin and have a younger actor co starring as the son.
Just another way to go.

I had enough of Spider-Man when they decided to make a Emo Parker.
I do kinda like Franco, although Gosling would be better I think.

Gosling I’d give a shot however.

Maybe Raimi can have him fight every bad guy and terrorist group ever, at the same time. Kinda like Spidey 3. Man, did I hate Spidey 3…not as bad as X3 though…wow do I hate Fox.

It’s a pretty hateful day today.
