Not everyone thinks as you do Daniel F. If we all did the world might just be a pretty boring place.

I think if a film is intentionally trying to be campy, if they acknowledge that instead of trying to make the movie something that it is not, a little camp can be a good thing.

And there is nothing wrong with anybody who says that.

You seriously want campy ? What is wrong with you?

I understand that everyone has their own opinion, but I really don't even see how W being bad is up for debate. It was a shining example of bad film. It was what all films should strive to not be. I also wasn't at all impressed with Brolin in the film. While he wasn't completely awful there was nothing great about his performance.

I have said this in other places. SR will be no different.

That is:

I'm glad Nelvedine and Taylor left. Nothing against the duo, but I would like to see Jonah Hex the way I liked the character... without the supernatural junk that re-invented the character which I never warmed up to, and felt the extreme opposite when that version was "accepted" by comics fans. ugh.

I hope that after doing so many serious dramatic rolls the thing Brolin liked about Haywards ideas was that he wanted to make it a campy comedy.

W may or may not be a good film, that's debatable. What's not debatable is Brolin's performance in W. He was simply amazing. An actor of his calibur could give some the film more credibility.

I trust Brolin to make the right choice. But this doesn't exactly shock me. When it was announced that Hayward would direct, I called it being Brolin's choice.

They need to let him do whatever he wants with the film. It'll be better off for it.

Also, it would seem to me that the character is ripe for fitting into the new Hollywood dark-superhero-film dynamic in the wake of The Dark Knight. Even if the studios push these films in that direction for superficial reasons (it's the "hot" direction for superhero films now), it happens to suit the character in this case, which could produce a good film.

Hayward as I understand has gained some chops from his time working at Pixar where he helped create their films up to and including Nemo. Now, how much that's rubbed off on him, we only have Horton to go by, but Brolin as mentioned, seems to be very selective in the roles and films he attaches his name to, and believing in the project, and the director, is a good first step to perfecting the artistic aesthetic of the film.

Here's hoping the film lives up to their faith in the material and each other to bring it to life.

All I know of Hex is what little I saw from the Batman Animated series, and I remember really digging the character from that (from what little the series did with him), so this may be one to keep on my radar.

I fail to see how he is on a roll adrian wasn't his most recent film W ? That was film was so awful.

I find my self worried about this film Josh seems to be running 50 / 50 sometimes he is good some time well not so good. The director seems like a joke. I thought it was first time I heard.

I trust Brolin's judgement since he's been on a roll with picking decent films.
I'll just wait and see before giving any negitivity to this project.

I always thought Jonah Hex was such a cool comic and Brolin does seem to have the acting chops to take on the part.
This could be a fun movie :)
